Job summary

EY GDS in Bengaluru seeks a Senior – Service Management Office (SMO) professional to oversee delivery across countries, manage engagements, and drive compliance reporting and KPI tracking. You will lead cross-functional teams, drive change management, and coordinate invoicing with finance teams to ensure delivery excellence.

The role requires 5–10 years in client-serving Finance/Accounting projects, PMI/PRINCE or equivalent certification preferred, and a proven track record in delivering

Responsibilities

• Knowledge transfer: communicate new client win and identify EY professionals across the network who will be part of the delivery.
• Build delivery plan for the next year after knowledge transfer meetings.
• Identify changes in scope post-knowledge transfer and build fee schedule for central client negotiations.
• Issue subcontracts to local EY teams for agreed scope and fees to initiate service delivery.
• Monitor compliance delivery services across multiple countries and functions.
• Prepare reports indicating status, issues and risks in delivery for the period; coordinate with local EY teams to resolve issues.
• Coordinate with stakeholders for change requisitions and regional/global approvals.
• Maintain schedules of inter-EY and client billings; coordinate invoicing with finance teams.

The opportunity

In Tax, GCR is the subservice line and ACR is built to cater GCR’s corporate client to provide compliance and accounting services, they include statutory reporting and bookkeeping services. The Services Management Office (SMO) supports the clients of ACR in managing their Commercial, Tax quality, User access and robust tracking mechanism for SLA/KPI management processes.

The SMO team offers the ease of managing clients (also referred to as Engagements within EY) in the following manner:

• Manage compliance of complex regulatory affairs across jurisdiction and support their processes end-to-end life cycle of an Engagement
• Provide project management support and control the cost of managing compliance across various regions/countries
• Measure and report engagements’ performance as per defined SLA’s and KPI’s of the clients

Responsibilities

Implementation phase

– Post the awarding of the contract to EY, there is a detailed project phase where the GCR business model needs to be implemented across the countries in scope. This involves extensive collaboration with EY professionals across various functions and countries, local client entities, central client team and possibly 3rd party service providers. Main tasks for the PMO professional in this phase would include:

• Knowledge transfer:
  • Communicate new client win and identify EY professionals across network who will be part of the delivery
  • Project to manage local knowledge transfer meetings across multiple functions and countries to capture specific scope of service
• Assess outcomes of knowledge transfer meetings to build the delivery plan for the next year
• Build project plan for delivery and set up engagement management tools
• Contractual:
  • Identifychanges in scope post-local knowledge transfer meetings and build up fee schedule for central client negotiations
  • Issue subcontracts to local EY teams for agreed scope and fees to initiate service delivery

Service delivery phase

– During service delivery, local EY teams will prepare tax and accounting compliance deliverables to help the client entities meet the jurisdictional requirements in the respective countries. Main tasks for the PMO professional in this phase would include:

• Service management:
• Monitor the compliance delivery services across multiple countries and functions
• Prepare reports indicating status, issues and potential risks in delivery for the respective period
• Coordinate with local EY teams to work through issue resolutions
• Change management:
• Coordinate with local EY teams to understand nature and impact of scope change
• Prepare detailed change requisitions for regional and global client approvals
• Invoice and cash flow:
• Maintain schedules of inter-EY and client billings
• Work with finance teams to raise necessary invoices and track invoices raised by local EY teams
• Coordinate with various stakeholders for clarifications on invoicing and contract related issues and queries

Key Competencies and Skills

We are looking for candidates with the following:

• Strong client relationship skills and account management in the Finance and Accounting domain.
• Exposure to multi-country Finance and Accounting project lifecycle in a client service environment
• Should be an Expert in understanding the Finance and Accounting rules and legislations in a multi-country environment at a high level.
• Experience in developing cross-functional teams in a multi-disciplinary practice and ability to lead a team of experienced professionals.
• Good understanding of the Technology enablers and supporting trends to advise clients on innovative solutions around delivery.
• Driven operational excellence by adopting a continuous improvement mindset, delivery excellence using Six Sigma etc., process efficiencies and ability to effectively implement change management.
• Proven ownership of delivering strategic projects
• Expert numeracy skills, attention to detail and accuracy
• Exposure to global Finance and Accounting Platform for reporting using PowerBi, SAP, SNOW
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
• Strong client and stakeholder management skills

Qualifications & Experience

You will need to

• Have Graduate/ Postgraduate with overall 5 – 10 Yrs. of experience.
• At least 3-6 years in a client serving role is a must.
• Business understanding and clients handled in Finance/Payroll/ HR domain is preferred.
• PMI/ PRINCE or equivalent project management certification preferred, but not necessary.
