Systems Engineering Senior Specialist
Job Summary
The Senior System Engineering Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) and Microsoft Intune environments. This role acts as a subject matter expert for endpoint management, ensuring secure, compliant, and reliable device lifecycle management across Windows, mobile, and hybrid environments.
The role works closely with Security, Infrastructure, Workplace Services, and Service Desk teams to deliver modern endpoint management solutions aligned with enterprise standards and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Endpoint & Systems Management
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise SCCM/MECM and Intune environments, including co‑management configurations
- Manage device lifecycle activities covering build, imaging, deployment, patching, upgrades, and retirement
- Administer Windows 10/11 endpoint configurations, compliance policies, and device health monitoring
Software Deployment & Patch Management
- Create, test, package, and deploy applications, updates, and security patches using SCCM and Intune
- Manage Windows Autopilot, OS imaging, task sequences, and feature updates
- Ensure timely patching and vulnerability remediation in coordination with Security teams
Intune & Modern Workplace Enablement
- Develop and maintain Intune policies, configuration profiles, and conditional access integrations
- Collaborate on migrations from legacy SCCM‑only management to cloud‑based Intune solutions where applicable
Automation, Scripting & Optimization
- Develop automation scripts using PowerShell to improve deployment, reporting, and operational efficiency
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, standardization, and automation across endpoint services
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability of endpoint management platforms
Support, Leadership & Collaboration
- Act as Tier‑3 escalation point for complex endpoint and device management issues
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and best‑practice recommendations to junior engineers and support teams
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles
Technical Skills
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands‑on experience with SCCM / MECM administration and architecture
- Strong experience with Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager)
- Windows 10/11 device management and troubleshooting
- PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting
- Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra ID (Azure AD), and hybrid identity concepts
- Endpoint security, patch management, and compliance frameworks
Professional Experience
- Typically 5–8+ years of experience in endpoint or systems management roles
- Proven experience managing large‑scale enterprise endpoint environments
- Experience working with security, compliance, and infrastructure stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and handle complex technical challenges with minimal supervision
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- Microsoft certifications such as MD‑102, Endpoint Administrator Associate, or SCCM/Intune certifications preferred
