Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks a System testing engineer to configure IEDs, develop HMIs per project needs, and test Control and relay panels within Grid Automation Systems.

The role involves executing IED configurations, testing, documenting progress, and ensuring readiness for FAT with up-to-date tools and best practices. Strong networking and Linux/Windows server skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of network design and troubleshooting.
• Experience with L2/L3 networking and MPLS-TP.
• Familiarity with SDH/PDH standards and related technologies.
• Hands-on experience configuring Linux/Windows servers for NMS.

Responsibilities

• Execute project IED configurations and testing safely following safety standards and customer guidelines.
• Configure IEDs and test Control, Protection and SAS panels per documented processes.
• Report configuration and testing status to the testing lead.
• Ensure IEDs are configured and tested per drawings before FAT.
• Hand over marked-up drawings to engineering for As-built drawings.
• Handover final testing backups and system backups to the lead.
• Provide regular feedback to management to improve reuse of experience.
• Follow key processes such as test procedures, timesheets and start meetings.
• Maintain installed base numerical relays with minimal revisions.
• Use latest tools and software versions during IED configurations and testing.
• Knowledge of modulation techniques, SDH/PDH standards and MPLS-TP networks.
• Excellent network design and troubleshooting skills.
• Demonstrate customer engagement and resolve queries during FAT.
• Willingness to integrate multiple technologies to deliver turnkey projects.
• Knowledge of L2/L3 network devices.
• Hands-on experience configuring Linux/Windows servers for NMS.
• Prepare network configurations per channel plan.
• Understand tele-protection, tele-operation, telephony and data services.

Job Summary

As a System testing engineer, carrying out the configuration of IEDs, development of HMIs in line with project requirements and testing of Control and relay panels, Substation automation system delivered and actively contribute to the testing team of Grid Automation Systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute the project IEDs configurations and testing safely following all safety standards of Heil as well as customer. Report Hazards, Near Misses at work location for records and further improvement.
• Carryout the Configurations of IEDs and testing the Control, Protection and SAS panels as per the documented process description and checklists. Continuous interactions with testing Lead and expert help to carry out the testing works effectively.
• Report the Configuration and testing project status testing progress testing plan to testing Lead. Ensure efficient use of the testing assets like Test kits, Tools etc.
• Ensures project information of any project is fully taken from testing lead and get all IEDs fully configured and tested in line with customer approved drawings and ready for the project specific testing activities before offering the projects to customer during FAT.
• Handing over the marked-up drawings to engineering for preparing the As-built drawing and onward submission to customer to close the project.
• Handover the final testing backups CDs, Micro SCADA system backup, IET workplace backup and other backup as per the checklist to lead.
• Actively and regularly (Compulsory for every project) provides feedback to Engineering Project Management, manufacturing and quality in way that ensures re-usage of experience.
• Follow the key process like Test procedures, Time sheets and Staart Meetings.
• Ensure the installed base numerical relays are maintained with minimum revisions by continuously updating the older revisions.
• Ensure the usage of the latest tools and latest software versions during project IED configurations and testing.
• Candidates should have strong knowledge of various modulation techniques, SDH/PDH network standards and MPLS-TP networks.
• Candidates should be excellent in network designing and troubleshooting.
• Should be able to demonstrate customer engagement and solve queries during customer FAT.
• Learner who can demonstrate integration of various technologies to deliver turnkey projects.
• Should have knowledge of L2/L3 network devices.
• Hands on experience in configuration Linux Windows based servers for NMS.
• Preparing network configuration according to channel plan.
• Understanding application or services such as tele protection, tele operation, telephony and data communication.
