Job summary

GE Vernova in India is seeking a Validation Engineer to perform pre-FAT activities, execute validation testing, and support customer inspections for Substation Automation System (SAS) and Protection System panels. You will work on integrating SAS with protection schemes and ensure data acquisition and testing cover all design validation aspects.

The ideal candidate has BE in EEE/ECE with hands-on testing experience, knowledge of IEC 61850 and Modbus, and a proactive approach to problem solving

Qualifications

• BE with 3 years in validating or testing Substation Automation System and Protection System.
• Hands-on experience in control & relay panel testing.
• Knowledge in testing protection IEDs (Trafo, Line, busbar).
• Knowledge of IEC 61850 and Modbus.
• In-depth protection knowledge of various IEDs and SAS cubicles.

Responsibilities

• Execute validation testing, inspection and data acquisition for design and validation of products and services.

Job Description Summary

This role involves conducting pre-IFAT activities and keeping the project ready for FAT on specified dates.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for execution of validation testing, inspection and data acquisition in design and validation of products and services.
• To Handle Customer Inspection for Control and Relay Panel & Substation Automation System Panels.
• Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
• To Integrate and validate Substation Automation System with Protection System.
• In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
• Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
• A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.

Qualification

• BE with 3 Years in E.E.E/E.C.E in Validating or testing Substation Automation System and Protection System.
• Should have good hands on experience in control & relay panel testing
• Should have good knowledge in testing protection IED's (Trafo , Line, busbar)
• Knowledge in IEC 61850 , modbus
• Should have in depth Protection Knowledge, of Various IED's like Trafo Protection, Busbar Protection, Line Protection, Understanding the Schemes and the Philosophies of Protection and SAS Cubicles. Knowledge on SAS
