Job summary

Avaloq is seeking a Senior Network Engineer (System Manager) to design, implement, and operate secure, scalable network infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments. You will own network reliability, performance, and security for banking platforms while driving automation.

Key responsibilities include managing data center and cloud networking, configuring devices, and leading RCA and capacity planning with an automation-first approach. Flexible hybrid work is supported.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in enterprise network engineering and operations.
• Strong routing and switching expertise (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, TCP/IP).
• Hands-on with firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers; cloud networking in AWS/OCI.
• Experience in hybrid on-prem and cloud environments; strong RCA skills.
• Scripting and automation experience with Terraform/Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage enterprise network infrastructure across data center and cloud.
• Design scalable, secure architectures across on-prem and cloud (AWS/OCI).
• Manage LAN, WAN, VPN, Internet, and cloud networking services.
• Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security via proactive monitoring.
• Lead RCA for complex incidents; drive capacity planning and lifecycle management.
• Implement network security controls, segmentation, and compliance.
• Collaborate with cloud, infra, and application teams for end-to-end delivery.
• Maintain network docs, standards, and runbooks; promote automation-first.
• Drive automation using IaC tools (Ansible, Terraform).

Job Summary

Avaloq is seeking a Senior Network Engineer (System Manager) to design, implement, and operate secure, scalable, and highly available network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.

The role owns network reliability, performance, and security for mission-critical banking platforms, while driving automation and standardization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage enterprise network infrastructure across data center and cloud environments (Dev, Test, Prod)
• Design and implement scalable and secure network architectures across on-prem and cloud (AWS / OCI)
• Manage LAN, WAN, VPN, Internet, and cloud networking services
• Configure and operate network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security through proactive monitoring and optimization
• Lead troubleshooting of complex network incidents and perform root cause analysis (RCA)
• Drive capacity planning, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management
• Implement network security controls, segmentation, and compliance requirements
• Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and application teams for end-to-end delivery
• Maintain network documentation, standards, and operational procedures
• Drive automation-first approach using scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Ansible, Terraform)

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering and operations
• Strong expertise in routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, TCP/IP)
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, network security controls, and load balancing
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking (AWS and/or OCI)
• Experience supporting hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud)
• Strong troubleshooting and performance analysis skills
• Exposure to scripting and automation(Terraform, Ansible, Bash or similar)
• Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP, NAT, segmentation, and HA architectures
• Experience with network automation (Python, Bash, Ansible, or similar)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, AWS Advanced Networking, or equivalent
• Experience with SD-WAN and advanced network architectures
• Experience with cloud connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect, FastConnect)
• Knowledge of Zero Trust and modern network security frameworks
• Experience in banking/fintech or regulated environments
• Exposure to Avaloq platform or willingness to learn Avaloq-specific networking practices
