Job summary

Avaloq is seeking a Senior Kubernetes & Cloud DevOps Engineer to support the design, implementation, and operation of our cloud-native platform. The ideal candidate has strong experience in Kubernetes, Linux, Cloud Infrastructure, and Terraform, with a passion for automation, scalability, security, and reliability.

You will work closely with platform, security, and application teams to build resilient infrastructure in a mission-critical financial services environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DevOps/Cloud Infra/SRE experience.
• Hands-on Kubernetes production experience including cluster operations and HA deployments.
• Experience with AWS and/or OCI cloud platforms.
• Strong cloud networking, IAM, and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, manage, and optimize Kubernetes platforms across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Manage cluster lifecycle: provisioning, upgrades, scaling, monitoring, troubleshooting.
• Implement networking, security, storage, and high availability best practices for Kubernetes.
• Build and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS/OCI.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform with reusable modules.
• Administer Linux systems focusing on performance and reliability.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment automation.
• Implement monitoring and observability solutions for platform reliability.
• Participate in incident management and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to improve platform capabilities.
• Maintain documentation and platform standards.

Job Summary

Avaloq is seeking a Senior Kubernetes & Cloud DevOps Engineer to support the design, implementation, and operation of our cloud-native platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Kubernetes, Linux, Cloud Infrastructure, and Terraform, with a passion for automation, scalability, security, and reliability. You will work closely with platform, security, and application teams to build and maintain resilient infrastructure in a mission-critical financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, manage, and optimize Kubernetes platforms across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Manage Kubernetes cluster lifecycle activities including provisioning, upgrades, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Implement best practices for Kubernetes networking, security, storage, and high availability.
• Build and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including reusable modules and automated provisioning frameworks.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux systems, focusing on performance, security, patching, and system reliability.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment automation and operational efficiency.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions to ensure platform reliability.
• Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to improve platform capabilities and developer experience.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and platform standards

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments, including cluster operations, networking, ingress, storage, RBAC, and high-availability deployments.
• Experience with AWS and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, security, and infrastructure best practices.
• Advanced Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, or similar platforms.
• Good understanding of DevOps and SRE practices, including reliability, monitoring, and incident response.

Preferred Qualifications

• Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, or CKS).
• Cloud certifications in AWS, OCI, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with HashiCorp Vault or other secrets management solutions.
• Experience working in banking, fintech, or other regulated environments.
