Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Bengaluru (Bangalore) seeks a System Engineer – TCMS HVAC Functions to lead development and integration of HVAC functionalities within TCMS. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable climate control, passenger comfort, monitoring, and operational efficiency across rolling stock platforms.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in TCMS, rolling stock, HVAC systems, or train control engineering.
• Hands-on in control documents such as RArS, SWrS, interface specs, and test specifications.
• Experience with MVB, WTB, Ethernet, TRDP and onboard communication protocols.
• Knowledge of railway standards and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop HVAC functionalities within TCMS architecture.
• Develop operation logics for cooling, heating, ventilation, and eco modes.
• Define communication interfaces using MVB, Ethernet, WTB, or TRDP.
• Develop fault handling, diagnostics, alarms, and monitoring concepts.
• Prepare system specifications, functional descriptions, and interface documents.
• Coordinate with RAMS, testing, and cybersecurity teams for delivery.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 61131, IEC 61375, IEC 50128, EN 50657 requirements.

Job Summary:

As a System Engineer – TCMS HVAC Functions, you will be responsible for development and integration of HVAC functionalities within the Train Control & Management System (TCMS). You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable climate control, passenger comfort, monitoring, and operational efficiency across rolling stock platforms.

• Define and develop HVAC functionalities within TCMS architecture.
• Develop operation logics related to cooling, heating, ventilation, temperature control, eco modes, and HVAC operational sequences.
• Alignment with component suppliers and development of RArS, SWrS, interface documents, and test specifications.
• Define communication interfaces with HVAC systems using MVB, Ethernet, WTB, or TRDP protocols.
• Develop fault handling, diagnostics, alarm management, and operational monitoring concepts for HVAC systems.
• Define functionalities related to temperature supervision, energy optimization, passenger comfort, and HVAC protections.
• Prepare and review system specifications, functional descriptions, and interface documents.
• Coordinate with system, software, RAMS, testing, and cybersecurity teams for successful project execution.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 61131, IEC 61375, IEC 50128, EN 50657, and project-specific requirements.
• Support technical discussions, requirement clarifications, and issue resolution activities.
• Contribute to improving reliability, maintainability, and operational efficiency of train HVAC systems.

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related engineering field.
• 5–10 years of experience in TCMS, rolling stock, HVAC systems, or train control system engineering.
• Hands‑on experience in development of control documents such as RArS, SWrS, interface specifications, and test specifications.
• Experience in HVAC systems, climate control logic development, diagnostics, and operational functionalities.
• Hands‑on experience with MVB, WTB, Ethernet, TRDP, and onboard communication protocols.
• Sound knowledge of train subsystems such as traction, brake, doors, HVAC, auxiliary systems, and vehicle control functions.
• Good understanding of railway standards such as IEC 61131, IEC 61375, IEC 50128, and EN 50657.
• Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional and multicultural engineering teams.
• Exposure to energy management, diagnostics, cybersecurity, or condition monitoring concepts will be an added advantage.
