Job summary

Siemens Mobility is hiring a System Engineer TCMS – Safety Equipment in Bengaluru. You will define and develop safety functionalities within TCMS, crafting operation logic for emergency systems, alarms, and safety monitoring across train subsystems.

You will align with suppliers, develop interface and test specifications, and ensure IEC/NORM compliance while coordinating with RAMS, software, testing, and cybersecurity teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer Science, or related engineering field.
• Experience: 5–10 years in TCMS, rolling stock, or train control system engineering.
• Hands-on development of control documents such as RArS, SWrS, interface specs, and test specs.
• Experience with safety equipment, emergency systems, safety interlocks, diagnostics, and operational logic development.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop safety equipment functionalities within TCMS architecture.
• Develop operation logics related to emergency systems, safety interlocks, alarms, vigilance, fire detection, and safety monitoring functions.
• Coordinate with suppliers and develop RArS, SWrS, interface documents, and test specifications.
• Define interfaces with onboard safety systems using MVB, Ethernet, WTB, or TRDP protocols.
• Develop fault handling, diagnostics, alarm management, and operational monitoring concepts for safety equipment.
• Prepare and review system specifications, functional descriptions, and interface documents.
• Coordinate with system, software, RAMS, testing, and cybersecurity teams for project execution.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 61131, IEC 61375, IEC 50128, EN 50657, and project requirements.
• Support technical discussions, clarifications, and issue resolution.
• Contribute to reliability, maintainability, and operational safety of train systems.

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer Science, or related engineering field.
• 5–10 years of experience in TCMS, rolling stock, or train control system engineering.
• Hands-on experience in development of control documents such as RArS, SWrS, interface specifications, and test specifications.
• Experience in safety equipment, emergency systems, safety interlocks, diagnostics, and operational logic development.
• Hands-on experience with MVB, WTB, Ethernet, TRDP, and onboard communication protocols.
• Sound knowledge of train subsystems such as traction, brake, doors, HVAC, auxiliary systems, and vehicle control functions.
• Good understanding of railway standards such as IEC 61131, IEC 61375, IEC 50128, EN 50657, and RAMS concepts.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multicultural engineering teams.
• Exposure to cybersecurity, condition monitoring, or safety-critical system concepts will be an added advantage.
