Capgemini Engineering in Mumbai seeks a Connect System Engineer to manage the OS configuration for retail POS systems, from evaluation to deployment and retirement. You will configure Windows OS, retail applications, and create PowerShell scripts to automate deployments.

The role requires 4+ years in Systems/Store Systems Engineering, strong Windows expertise, MDT/SCCM, and Datadog; hands-on testing with POS hardware; and adaptability to a fast-paced retail IT environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Systems / Store Systems Engineering.
• Strong Windows OS expertise and PowerShell scripting experience.
• Hands-on experience with MDT and SCCM.
• Exposure to Retail POS hardware and software, Datadog mandatory.
• Basic networking knowledge (IP, VPN, Firewalls) and troubleshooting skills.

Job Summary

Systems Engineering – The OS Configuration team manages the full lifecycle of retail POS systems from evaluation to retirement. Store Systems Engineers configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.

The role involves supporting installations, software deployment, and Tier‑3 (T3) support teams by developing PowerShell scripts to automate tasks such as equipment staging, deployment optimization, and troubleshooting. Strong Windows, Retail, and Datadog experience is mandatory. Physical access to POS hardware is required for testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage complete POS lifecycle: evaluation, deployment, maintenance, and retirement
• Configure and test Windows OS and retail applications
• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate deployment and staging activities
• Improve software deployment scripts for efficiency and fault tolerance
• Create troubleshooting and diagnostic scripts for L2 and T3 teams
• Support installation and software deployment across retail stores
• Perform hands-on testing using physical POS equipment
