About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Architect to lead the design and architecture of enterprise‑grade applications at ExxonMobil. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, software development experience, strategic thinking capabilities, and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high‑performing solutions for the business.
Responsibilities
- Designs and supports the development of technology systems that meet business needs, with a focus on platform operations and reliability.
- Develop and deliver roadmap and planning product lifecycle (DBM record maintenance, upgrades, retirements, etc.).
- Develop and maintain System Architecture models (e.g., System Interaction diagram) and reference implementations within the system of record (e.g., Portfolio Management and Enterprise Architecture tools).
- Verify stability, interoperability, portability, security, and scalability of the system architecture.
- Work across physical architecture levels to create the physical reference architecture diagrams.
- Evaluate and guide selection of technologies required to introduce new systems to meet business needs.
- Deep system, product, and/or capability knowledge (recognized expert) – combined with basic infrastructure knowledge and experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- 10+ years of experience in software development and architecture.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure.
- Expertise in designing microservices, serverless architectures, and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in .NET Core, ASP.NET, and front‑end frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Experience with authentication/authorization using Azure Active Directory (Entra ID).
- Strong understanding of database design and optimization (SQL Server).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with system integration, API design, and enterprise architecture frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Python and willingness to upskill.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of event‑driven architecture and messaging systems.
