Job summary

CompuCom is seeking a System Administrator II Linux to install, configure and maintain Linux servers (RHEL 6/7, OL5/6). You will diagnose OS, hardware, applications issues and support patching, virtualization (VMware VSphere), and storage (LVM, NFS, SAN/NAS).

Responsibilities include network configuration, firewall (iptables), DNS, mail services, backups, and user management. RHCE preferred; strong knowledge of LDAP, Crontab, and incident/change/problem management expected.

Qualifications

• Track record of Linux server installation, patching and issue resolution.
• Experience with RHEL 6/7, virtualization, and storage management (LVM/NFS/SAN).
• Knowledge of networking (TCP/IP), DNS, mail services, and backup systems.
• RHCE preferred; AWS/DevOps beneficial.

Job description

As System Administrator II Linux, you are responsible for performing Installation, configuration, and maintenance of LINUX operating systems within a business. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with the operating system's servers, hardware, applications, and software. Detects, diagnoses, and reports LINUX related problems on servers.

Responsibilities

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux RHEL 7x, 6x; OL5x, 6x.
• Hands on experience of OS Patching and handling post-patching issues.
• Hands on experience on VMWare VSphere Client, to manage VM.
• Patch and Package administration using yum and RPM utilities.
• Vendor coordination and Configure server consoles.
• Printer Administration.
• Administering Mail issues and Troubleshooting skills (mailx, sendmail. etc).
• Administering Linux storage and files systems.
• Hands on experience on LVM, NFS, automount.
• Remote Installation, Configuration of Servers.
• Having knowledge on Remote administration like SSH, Telnet.
• Understanding of SAN and NAS storage.
• Strong concepts of networking like TCP / IP, TCP dump.
• Network management - configuring network interfaces and troubleshooting network problems,
• Interface bonding configuration etc.
• Good knowledge on Firewall like iptables.
• Good knowledge of DNS.
• Good knowledge of AV installations.
• Installation, configuration and Administration of NetBackup, Networker environment.
• Good understanding of LDAP.
• Having knowledge of User Administration.
• Good knowledge on Job Scheduling using Crontab.
• Good Understanding and troubleshooting of Linux Concepts.
• Good understanding of Incident, Change, Problem Management process.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical experience in corporate IT operations
• Server build Experience (Virtual).
• Knowledge of other Unix flavors (Solaris and HP-UX)
• Red-Hat Satellite Server knowledge.
• Red hat Subscription Knowledge.
• Cloud Technologies (Like AWS, Dev Ops, Ansible and Mule Soft) as added advantage.
