Job summary

Netweb Technologies India is seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator to provide second-level Linux support and manage deployments across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.

The role requires strong scripting, networking, and virtualization skills, plus collaboration with DevOps and Security teams to uphold security hardening and DR processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 35 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration.
• Proficiency with Linux command-line tools and scripting (Bash, Python preferred).
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, etc.).
• Experience with virtualization (VMware, KVM, or similar platforms).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Understanding of security best practices and system hardening procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide second-level support for Linux systems, resolving escalated issues from L1 support.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to hardware, OS, applications, and network components.
• Perform system upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes with minimal downtime.
• Maintain and administer Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.) in physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
• Manage users, groups, permissions, and access controls across multiple systems.
• Automate tasks and processes using shell scripts or other scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery processes.
• Assist in the deployment and support of applications and services on Linux infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with internal security standards and hardening guidelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Security, and Network teams.
• Document all operational procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
