Job summary

Aptiv Connection Systems, Chennai Engineering Center, India, invites applications for a Product Engineer to lead end‑to‑end development of LV/HV connectors, performing CAD work in Siemens NX and applying GD&T and tolerance analyses.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, drive PV/ECN processes, support testing, and ensure manufacturability and reliability across automotive programs.

Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive product engineering or connector development.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack‑ups.
  • Hands‑on CAD development using Siemens NX for complex parts and assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end product engineering for LV/HV connectors, seals, and terminals.
  • Perform PV and ECN tasks; support test reports and PPAP processes.
  • Apply GD&T and tolerance analysis to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and cross‑functional teams to meet milestones.

Core Strengths
  • Lead the end‑to‑end Product Engineering solutions for Flow 5 activity, ProcessingProduct Validation and Test Matrixaccording to the OEM Specifications for Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) Connectors, Electrical centers, Seals, HSCA and Terminals.
  • Perform hands‑onMCAD design using Siemens NX, including development of complex 3D parts, large assemblies, detailed 2D drawings, specifications, and BOMs for electro‑mechanical systems.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, effectively communicating design intent to manufacturing and quality teams.
  • ApplyGD&T, tolerance stack‑up analysis, and packaging constraintsto ensure dimensional accuracy and seamless integration of electrical and mechanical interfaces
  • SupportProduction Validation (PV) and IR Evaluation using CT Scanby analyzing test results and implementing corrective and preventive design actions.
  • Demonstrate hands‑on expertise in Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), field failure investigations, and root cause analysis to drive timely and effective product improvements.
  • Lead sustaining engineering initiatives by driving continuous improvement, cost optimization, design enhancements, and issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle to ensure quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction

Accountability & Ownership on projects
  • Responsible for the Product Engineering and Validation of automotive LV and HV connectors, EC, Seals, HSCA and Terminals, delivering Test Reports to the Customers according to the OEM Specifications
  • The role includes hands‑on CAD development using Siemens NX, application of GD&T, Tolerance stack-up analysis, IR Evaluation using CT Scan, PVTP Preparation, Sample ordering, TR Creation, Test Report release and PPAP support
  • The engineer ensures compliance with automotive safety, Tooling feasibility and manufacturability requirements while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams and suppliers to support
    validation, production launch and field issue resolution.
  • Effectively coordinate and communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal cross‑functional teams to drive project activities, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely completion of deliverables in line with project milestones
