Job summary

The role involves data analysis and reporting under GRI, BRSR/IFRS S1/S2, ESRS, CSRD, and active stakeholder engagement across functions. Consulting experience and multi-sector exposure are valued.

Qualifications

• MBA or related Master’s in Sustainability or Environmental Science required.
• Experience with GRI, IFRS S1/S2, ESRS, CSRD preferred.
• Strong client management and presentation skills.

Role Overview

The candidate should be well versed in ESG, sustainability reporting, ESG ratings and assessments, with demonstrated experience of working with corporate clients to strengthen ESG disclosures, improve performance against leading ESG assessment frameworks and support sustainability-related business decisions.

Candidates with experience in sustainability consulting, ESG reporting/advisory, ESG ratings or corporate sustainability functions would be preferred.

Job Requirements

• Strong understanding of ESG principles, sustainability issues, ESG governance frameworks and global sustainability reporting and disclosure standards.
• Demonstrated experience in sustainability reporting and disclosures aligned with frameworks such as GRI, BRSR/BRSR Core, IFRS S1 & S2, ESRS, CSRD, CSDDD SFDR, EU Taxonomy, Integrated Reporting Framework, TCFD and SASB, among others.
• Hands-on experience in ESG ratings and assessment frameworks such as S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), CDP and EcoVadis. Exposure to MSCI ESG and Sustainalytics methodologies would be an advantage.
• Experience in conducting ESG rating gap assessments, including question-level assessment of existing practices, policies, disclosures, quantitative performance and supporting evidence.
• Ability to identify improvement opportunities and develop prioritized ESG rating and disclosure improvement roadmaps based on assessment requirements, peer practices and sector benchmarks.
• Experience in developing Sustainability Reports, ESG Reports and Integrated Reports, including report structure, content development, management approach disclosures, performance narratives and case studies.
• Ability to conduct peer benchmarking and ESG maturity assessments across companies and sectors covering policies, targets, commitments, ESG KPIs, governance mechanisms and disclosure practices.
• Strong understanding of ESG data requirements and data management, including development of data collection templates, KPI definitions, calculation methodologies, data validation and supporting documentation.
• Ability to analyze ESG performance and translate quantitative and qualitative information into meaningful insights and recommendations for management.
• Experience of working with companies across multiple sectors from an ESG / sustainability perspective. Exposure to sectors such as Manufacturing, Automotive, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Power, Oil & Gas, Metals & Mining, Infrastructure, FMCG and Financial Services would be preferred.
• Ability to track and interpret evolving Indian and global ESG regulations, reporting requirements and rating methodologies, and assess their implications for clients.
• Ability to engage with multiple client stakeholders including Sustainability, EHS, HR, Procurement, Finance, Investor Relations, Company Secretariat, Operations and Corporate Communications.
• Ability to independently manage client workstreams, coordinate data collection, conduct stakeholder discussions and ensure timely delivery of high-quality assignments.
• Ability to prepare and deliver high-impact presentations and recommendations to client management and internal committees.
• Experience in reviewing and guiding the work of junior team members while ensuring analytical rigor and quality of deliverables.
• Support preparation of proposals, technical approaches, pitch presentations and client discussions for sustainability reporting and ESG ratings opportunities.
• Contribute to thought leadership, knowledge reports, articles, webinars, seminars and conferences to showcase Crisil’s capabilities in ESG and sustainability.

Qualification

• MBA / Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Climate Change, Energy, Finance, Economics or related discipline; or
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or another relevant discipline.

Relevant certifications in GRI, Integrated Reporting, IFRS Sustainability, ESG, climate change or sustainability reporting would be an advantage.
