Job summary

Aditya Birla Group is seeking a Medical Pharmacist to join the Medical Services/Occupational Health Centre. The role covers medication management, patient counseling, inventory control, and regulatory compliance across Mines First Aid Centre and related locations.

The ideal candidate holds a D. Pharm or B. Pharm, is registered with the State Pharmacy Council, and has experience in hospital pharmacy or industrial healthcare. Willingness to work at multiple sites is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
• Registered Pharmacist with the State Pharmacy Council.
• Experience in hospital/pharmacy within industrial healthcare or occupational health centres preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong teamwork and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately and safely.
• Monitor medication usage and adverse drug reactions; promote rational use.
• Educate patients on dosage, administration, side effects, and precautions.
• Manage pharmaceutical inventory and ensure availability; maintain records.
• Ensure proper biomedical waste segregation and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate AMC/CMC activities for medical equipment and liaise with vendors.
• Maintain ambulance operation records and support emergency response.
• Perform duties across assigned locations (OHC, Mines First Aid Centre, hospitals).
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.

Position Details

Designation: Medical Pharmacist
Department: Medical Services / Occupational Health Centre (OHC)
Location: Utkal Alumina / Mines / OHC / Hospital Locations as Assigned

Job Purpose

To ensure safe, effective, and efficient medication management, pharmacy operations, patient counseling, inventory control, statutory compliance, and support healthcare services across the organization. The role involves collaborating with medical professionals to optimize patient care while maintaining high ethical and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Pharmacy Operations & Medication Management

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately and safely.
• Monitor medication usage and adverse drug reactions.
• Promote rational use of medicines and medication adherence.
• Educate patients on dosage, administration, side effects, and precautions.
• Assist in medication therapy management and patient safety initiatives.
• Manage pharmaceutical inventory and ensure availability of medicines.
• Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and storage conditions.
• Maintain stock and store records for the Mines First Aid Centre.

4. Biomedical Waste Management

• Ensure proper segregation, handling, and disposal of biomedical waste.
• Maintain compliance with applicable biomedical waste management regulations.
• Monitor waste disposal practices at the Mines First Aid Centre.

5. Compliance & Regulatory Management

• Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and internal policies.
• Manage statutory and operational compliances related to the Mines First Aid Centre.
• Support implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

6. Medical Equipment Management

• Coordinate AMC/CMC activities for medical equipment.
• Liaise with vendors for servicing and preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate implementation and smooth functioning of PEHEL software at the Mines First Aid Centre.

8. Ambulance Management

• Maintain records related to ambulance operations and upkeep.
• Ensure emergency response support when required.

9. Duty Management

• Perform duties at Mines First Aid Centre, OHC, UAIL Hospital, Nuapada Hospital, Utkal Hospital (Oshapada), or any other assigned location based on organizational requirements.

10. Professional & Ethical Responsibilities

• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional integrity.
• Stay updated on advancements in pharmacy practices and healthcare.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) / Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) from a recognized institution.
• Registered Pharmacist with the State Pharmacy Council.

Experience

• Relevant experience in hospital pharmacy, industrial healthcare, occupational health centres, or healthcare institutions preferred.
