Job summary

Biocon Biologics is seeking a Supply Planning leader to drive production and supply scheduling for a portfolio of products. You will collaborate with manufacturing, API planning, procurement, QA, and logistics to ensure uninterrupted supply, optimize inventory, and minimize cost while maintaining service levels across domestic and international markets.

The role requires 5+ years in supply or production planning in pharma or FMCG, with strong ERP and analytics skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Pharmacy / Science / Engineering / Commerce.
• MBA / PG Diploma in SCM / Operations Management preferred.

About the Role

To Lead Supply Planning for a set of portfolio products, ensuring uninterrupted supply of Products by developing and maintaining effective supply plans, coordinating with manufacturing sites, API Planning, Logistics, procurement, quality, and commercial teams, while optimizing inventory, minimizing cost, and ensuring service levels across Domestic & International markets.

Key Responsibilities:

a) Production Planning & Supply Scheduling:

• Develop near term-to-long term production plans based on demand forecasts, inventory norms, Transit time, and manufacturing capacities.
• Create monthly rolling production schedules in alignment with monthly sales forecasts, Tender visibility, In transit stock and API/RM/PM availability.
• Coordinate with manufacturing plants, API team, and procurement teams for timely execution of production plans.

b) Inventory & Capacity Management:

• Maintain optimum inventory levels (RM, PM, FG) to avoid stock-outs and obsolescence.
• Monitor and manage capacity constraints; elevate risks and propose mitigation actions.
• Optimize inventory holdings in consultation with finance and commercial teams, while ensuring availability of Finished Goods.

c) Demand Planning Interface:

• Collaborate with demand planning and commercial teams to align supply plans with market requirements.
• Support S&OP processes by providing supply scenarios and constraints where ever applicable.

d) Cross-functional Coordination:

• Act as a bridge between production, QA/QC, regulatory, procurement, API Planning, Logistics and commercial teams.
• Ensure timely readiness of materials, artwork, and regulatory approvals for production.

e) Supply Risk Management:

• Identify supply risks, delays, or constraints and proactively implement corrective actions.
• Track and manage inventory shelf-life risks, batch expiry management, and re-testing needs.

f) Master Data & Compliance:

• Ensure timely updates and accuracy of master data in ERP/SAP systems (BOM, lead times, MOQ, batch sizes etc).
• Adhere to cGMP, GDP, and other regulatory compliance norms in supply planning activities.

g) Reporting & Analytics:

• Generate periodic reports on supply KPIs such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full), inventory turnover etc
• Analyze supply chain performance and recommend process improvements.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, inventory control, and pharma/ FMCG SCM processes
• Understanding of generic pharma regulatory, quality, and manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of SAP / ERP systems (PP/MM modules preferred)
• Analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Power BI or similar tools
• Problem-solving & decision-making abilities

Educational Qualification:

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Pharmacy / Science / Engineering / Commerce
• Preferred: MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain / Operations Management

Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years in Supply planning / production planning / SCM preferably in Pharma or FMCG industry.
• For Premier B School candidates- experience of 2+years can be considered
