Job summary

Biocon Biologics is seeking a seasoned Material Planning leader to own RM/PM planning, drive inventory strategies, and ensure availability across all sites. You will coordinate with production, QC, and procurement teams to meet demand and optimize stock levels.

The role requires 8–12 years in material planning or supply chain, with ERP experience (SAP/Oracle) and strong analytics capabilities. A fast-paced, multi-site environment awaits your leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (SCM/Engineering/Pharmacy/Chemistry).
• MBA/PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain preferred.
• Certifications such as APICS CPIM/CSCP add value.

Responsibilities

• Lead the RM planning team and manage material availability as per demand.
• Responsible for RM/PM planning and inventory across all sites.
• Receive production plan and calculate required RM/PM quantities; arrange accordingly.
• Arrange PRNs for API-related materials.
• Share schedules for materials as per demand and timelines.
• Serve as SPOC for production teams on material-related issues (QC approvals).
• Harmonize RM planning across units and drive standardization.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for material planning; report to QC and Purchase teams.

About the Role :

Will own the planning process of Raw Material and Packing Material and be responsible for managing all aspects of material availability, inventory levels. To meet the company's operational objectives. Should design, generate and drive strategies for efficient material management and ensure continuous improvement in material planning and inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

• To lead the RM planning team successfully and manage the material availability as per the demand.
• Responsible for all Raw Material and Packing Material planning and inventory of all sites.
• Receipt of production plan from production. To calculate the quantity of all the required RM/PM and arrange them as per the requirement.
• Arranging the PRN’s for all API related materials
• Sharing the schedules for the material as per the demand.
• SPOC for production teams for all material related issues like QC approvals.
• Lead the process for harmonization of RM planning across different units.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for Material planning and share the report with all the relevant QC and Purchase teams.
• Generate suitable MIS and analytics on a monthly basis for monthly review.
• Support Head of Supply Chain with information and analytics related to Material management and inventory
• Optimize RM and PM inventory levels in line with targets
• Coordinate with QC, procurement teams to ensure RM quality
• Take lead in identifying inventory optimization techniques
• Track relevant production metrics to gather information regarding future requirements
• Supporting development projects to ensure Material availability for New Product Development

Academic Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Master's degree (MBA/PGDM) in Operations, Supply Chain, or Materials Management preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or equivalent will be an added advantage.

Work Experience:

• 8-12 years of experience in Material Planning, Supply Chain, or Inventory Management.
• Prior experience in Pharmaceutical, Chemical, or Manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
• Proven experience in managing RM/PM planning across multiple sites.
• Strong exposure to ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel/analytics tools.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive cross-functional collaboration with Production, QC, and Procurement.
• Experience in inventory optimization, demand planning, and KPI management.
• Exposure to API/raw material planning and regulatory environments will be an added advantage.
