Fortune Consultancy is seeking an Executive SCM (Mechanical Components) to manage strategic sourcing, procurement, and vendor lifecycle for precision mechanical parts used in defense, space, and ruggedized electronics. The role interacts with R&D, design, and QA to ensure on-time delivery and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or SCM.
• 3-6 years of core SCM/Procurement in Defense, Aerospace, or High-Tech Electronics Manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of CNC milling/turning, sheet metal, electroplating, anodizing, powder coating, vacuum brazing, injection molding.
• Ability to read/interpet engineering drawings and GD&T symbols.
• Hands-on ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, or Ramco) - purchasing & inventory modules.
• Familiarity with AS9100, IPC, MIL-spec standards.

Responsibilities

• Procure high-precision mechanical components (CNC parts, sheet metal, enclosures, heat sinks) per BOM and project timelines.
• Identify and onboard mechanical fabricators meeting aerospace/defense standards.
• Analyze cost breakdowns, evaluate RFQs/RFPs, negotiate pricing and terms.
• Coordinate with R&D, Mechanical Design, and QA to review drawings and manage FAI clearance.
• Monitor ERP material tracking, safety stock, and line-side availability.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR/export control and defense traceability.

Job Description: A leading defense and aerospace electronics solutions provider, is hiring an Executive SCM (Mechanical Components) to manage strategic sourcing, procurement, and vendor lifecycle for precision mechanical parts, enclosures, and thermal/structural hardware used in defense, space, and ruggedized electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure high-precision mechanical components CNC-machined parts, sheet metal fabrications, card cages, enclosures, heat sinks - as per BOM and project timelines
• Identify, audit, onboard, and evaluate mechanical fabricators, machine shops, and finishing/plating vendors meeting aerospace/defense standards
• Analyze cost breakdowns, evaluate RFQs/RFPs, negotiate pricing, lead times, and payment terms
• Coordinate with R&D, Mechanical Design, and QA teams to review engineering drawings (GD&T) before RFQ release; manage First Article Inspection (FAI) clearance
• Monitor material tracking (ERP), safety stock, and line-side availability to prevent production bottlenecks
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR/export control, and defense traceability standards

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or SCM
• 3-6 years of core SCM/Procurement experience in Defense, Aerospace, Precision Engineering, or High-Tech Electronics Manufacturing
• Strong understanding of CNC milling/turning, sheet metal work, electroplating, anodizing, powder coating, vacuum brazing, injection molding
• Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T symbols
• Hands-on ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, or Ramco) - purchasing & inventory modules
• Familiarity with AS9100, IPC, MIL-spec standards
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor relationship management skills
