Job summary

Siemens Energy in India is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to support supplier development and qualification for components in Compressor, H2 Electrolyzer Systems, and other products. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 10 years of relevant experience in supplier quality.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Support the development of suppliers providing components and systems to local and global Siemens Energy locations for Compressor, H2 Electrolyzer Systems, Small Steam Turbine and Industrial Generator Auxiliaries, including skids, components, piping, heat exchangers, third‑party packaging and other fabrications.
• Assist in supplier qualification by performing capability analysis, audits and risk assessments for new suppliers and re‑qualify existing suppliers per Siemens Energy’s Supplier Quality guidelines.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to ensure suppliers consistently deliver products according to applicable guidelines and requirements.
• Initiate and implement proactive and reactive supplier quality improvement measures using quantitative and qualitative performance metrics, support root‑cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and apply risk‑management methodologies to prevent non‑conformances.
• Plan and implement Supplier Quality Assurance measures throughout the supplier life‑cycle (qualification and ongoing business) to ensure supply‑chain resiliency.
• Act as an active member supporting procurement and business initiatives such as localization, Local‑4‑Global, and sourcing strategy development.

Qualifications

• Experience as a design engineer, quality engineer, or manufacturing engineer with practical manufacturing experience and knowledge of related scope.
• Experience in technical functions within the energy, oil and gas, or related industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or related engineering with at least 10 years of relevant experience in supplier quality.
• Lead auditor experience or certification is preferred.
• Strong initiative, results orientation, solution orientation, and analytical thinking; digital skills a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, and experience working in a global environment.
• Familiarity with root‑cause analysis and other quality and risk‑management methodologies.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30%.
• Project management experience is preferred.
