Job summary

GE Vernova in India seeks a Supplier Performance Engineer to develop and maintain supplier relationships and ensure purchase orders meet GE Grid Solutions requirements while expanding the supply base globally.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive annual performance targets across quality, delivery and cost, conduct supplier audits, manage non-conformances, and implement corrective actions with global suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Production / Electrical Engineering from a four-year college or university.
  • 4+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Incoming inspection, process control, in-process inspection, quality engineering or supplier quality engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Product development & approval – Work with global suppliers located in India to develop parts/products to meet abroad unit’s requirements.
  • Define product / process / documentation requirements and ensure supplier compliance as guided by BCC project leaders
  • Communicate with colleagues abroad to ask and/or provide clarification on technical topics as guided
  • Involve in analysis of problem solving with supplier / SP engineering team
  • Inspection of samples before approving them for exports
  • Pre-shipment inspection – of critical parts based on serial production order from units abroad
  • Record any non-conformance and ensure proper sorting / correction before parts are allowed to be shipped
  • Drive Supplier selection by doing audits (SRG and process audit)
  • Perform Periodic & Surveillance supplier audits and coordinate supplier self-assessments as required.
  • Support, Collect, Evaluate and Perform audit requests from the Product lines.
  • Non-conformity Management – work along with supplier team for Root cause analysis, develop corrective action plan and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain communications with supplier staff by communicating openly and honestly, treating all people with dignity, respect, and courtesy.

The SPE (Supplier Performance Engineer) develops and maintains relationships with suppliers to ensure they are executing our purchase orders in accordance with GE Grid Solutions requirements. Participate in the company initiative to expand the supply base globally. Collaborate with all stake holders (internal & external) for sustained annual performance targets across Quality, Delivery, and Cost with nominated critical poor performing Suppliers.

Required Qualifications
  • Expected: Bachelor's degree in Mechaical / production / Electrical Engineering from four-year college or university; and 4 + years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred: Incoming inspection, process control, in-process inspection, quality engineering, Supplier quality engineering in manufacturing environment is required.
  • Low cost country supply chain experience. Including Incoterms / packing requirements / documentation requirements

  • Communication Skills: Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language. Bilingual preferred.

  • Must communicate clearly with suppliers in written and verbal means.
  • Other Skills: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.
