Job summary

United Tyrekrafts is seeking a Supplier Quality Assurance professional to manage supplier quality performance, conduct audits, and lead CAPA processes for hydraulic components. You will collaborate with Purchase, Production, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure adherence to drawings, GD&T, and quality standards.

The role requires expertise in PPAP/APQP, PFMEA, SPC, and MSA, plus strong problem-solving and supplier relationship skills. Prior experience with ERP/MRP and QMS is expected.

Responsibilities

• Monitor supplier quality performance against drawings, specs, and standards.
• Conduct supplier evaluations, qualifications, and periodic performance reviews.
• Perform supplier audits of processes, quality systems, inspection methods, controls, calibration, and traceability.
• Coordinate with suppliers on incoming quality issues and non-conformities.
• Raise and monitor SCARs and ensure closure of corrective actions.
• Lead root cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D methodologies.
• Review PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, Process Capability docs.
• Support new supplier development and first-off approvals.
• Monitor critical supplier processes for hydraulic components.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor supplier quality performance to ensure all supplied materials and components meet approved drawings, specifications, standards, and quality requirements.
• Conduct supplier evaluation, qualification, process audits, and periodic performance reviews.
• Perform supplier audits covering manufacturing processes, quality systems, inspection methods, process controls, calibration, and traceability.
• Coordinate with suppliers for incoming quality issues, rejection, deviations, and non-conformities.
• Raise and monitor Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Ensure effective implementation and verification of CAPA at supplier locations.
• Review supplier PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, and Process Capability documents, wherever applicable.
• Support new supplier development and new component qualification, including sample inspection and first-off approval.
• Monitor critical supplier processes for hydraulic components such as cylinders, rods, tubes, pistons, glands, valves, manifolds, fittings, hoses, forgings, castings, and machined components.
• Ensure control of critical quality parameters including dimensions, GD&T, material grade, hardness, surface finish, coating, cleanliness, pressure rating, and leakage, as applicable.
• Work closely with Purchase, Vendor Development, Production, Engineering, PPC, and Internal Quality teams to resolve supplier-related issues.
• Identify opportunities for supplier process improvement, rejection reduction, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
• Monitor supplier quality KPIs such as Supplier PPM, rejection rate, repeat complaints, audit scores, SCAR closure, and corrective-action effectiveness.
• Maintain supplier quality documentation, audit reports, inspection reports, NCRs, SCAR/8D reports, and supplier performance records.
• Ensure proper material traceability and quality documentation for critical components.
• Conduct regular supplier visits for process audits, problem-solving, quality improvement, and technical support.

Required Skills & Technical Knowledge:

• Good understanding of hydraulic components such as cylinders, rods, tubes, pistons, glands, valves, manifolds, fittings, hoses, and related precision components.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, BOMs, specifications, and quality standards.
• Strong knowledge of RCA, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, CAPA, and problem-solving techniques.
• Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, and Process Capability.
• Experience in conducting supplier process audits and quality system audits.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems
• Good knowledge of measuring instruments and inspection techniques, including Vernier, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge, Thread Gauges, and CMM, as applicable.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP and QMS systems for supplier quality and inspection management.
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and supplier relationship management skills.
