Job summary

Alfa Laval in Pune seeks a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to lead proactive supplier quality work, align with global sourcing strategy, and improve cost competitiveness.

You will evaluate supplier capability, support NPD/EPD projects, and drive change management while ensuring documents and technical requirements are understood by suppliers and the internal teams.

Qualifications

• Reads engineering drawings and GD&T.
• 3–4 years of experience in sourcing and development.
• Proactive in anticipating problems and driving quality improvements.

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible for supplier development and supplier quality assurance.
• Lead run-saving projects to achieve yearly savings targets.
• Indirectly responsible for inventory and material availability.
• Coordinate with Eng, R&D, QC, Stores, Suppliers and Purchase.
• Support suppliers with technical questions during sample production and approval processes.
• Drive and support change management and development projects.
• Oversee product and process validation.

Supplier Quality Assurance - Engineer

Lead and manage the pro-active quality work with suppliers in handshake and NPD/EPD projects. Advice R&D regarding cost effective design for manufacturing in NPD/EPD projects. Act as technical support in supplier selection.

Job Description

• Work on alternate supply chain.
• Identify dual sources & implementation activity
• Align with global sourcing strategy
• Work to improve cost competitiveness
• Work on sustainable supply chain with focus on SQDC
• Reliable & flexible supply chain development
• Lead and manage the pro-active quality work with suppliers in handshake and NPD/EPD projects.
• Secure that the supplier has got and understood all documents and technical requirements.
• Evaluate the technical capability of the supplier.
• Support the supplier in technical questions throughout the sample production.
• Support the factory in approval process of the parts.
• Drive and/or support Q PIM cases.
• Advice R&D regarding cost effective design for manufacturing in NPD/EPD projects.
• Act as technical support in supplier selection.
• Drive change management & development activities & projects
• Product & process validation

Knowledge And Skills

• Should be able to read Engineering drawings, GD&T
• Knowledge of production concept & processes like casting, machining, fabrication, electrical panels & motors
• Should have experience of min. 3 to 4 years in Sourcing & development
• Should be proactive in anticipating problems
