Job summary

Alfa Laval in Pune seeks an Operational Buyer to manage supplier forecasts, material planning and replenishment to ensure continuous supply for internal and external customers.

You will place orders, track deliveries, support corrective actions and participate in process improvements while maintaining safety and quality.

Required: BE in mechanical or production, 3–4 years of experience, English fluency and ERP knowledge.

• Strong understanding of supply chain concepts and processes.
• Proficient English in speaking and writing.
• BE in mechanical or production or an equivalent field with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier forecasts, material planning and replenishment to ensure uninterrupted supply to internal and external customers.
• Place and track purchase orders; communicate requirements and product specifics to suppliers.
• Approve supplier payments and support the handshake process as needed.
• Monitor daily results against quality, delivery and cost milestones; participate in problem solving and improvements.

The position / About the Job:

In this job the Operational Buyer would be responsible for:

• Ensure our capacity needs of our suppliers.
• Communicate material requirements and product specifics to our suppliers.
• Place and secure delivery of purchase orders.
• In case of deviations, limit the deviation and carry out corrective measures.
• Supplier Payment approvals.
• Support the handshake process.
• Focus and track daily results related to the three defined purchasing milestones (quality, delivery, cost)
• Be active at Cell Status Board meetings.
• Be active in problem solving and other improvement activities.
• Suggest improvements on Instructions / SOP's
• Always consider the possibility of eliminating waste
• Engage in safety and quality work and immediately call TM/UM when problems or risks arise.
• Take responsibility for their own development and to stay informed.
• Forecast & logic-based planning.
• Supplier audits & visits if necessary.
• Importing goods for local assembly.
• Must have exposer in procurement of Machine Components, Bearings, "C "class articles like, Std, Fasteners, bought outs, O ring, Gasket
