Job summary

Alfa Laval invites applications for a Supplier Quality Assurance - Engineer position at our Pune facility. You will lead proactive supplier quality initiatives, advise R&D on cost-effective design for manufacturability in NPD/EPD projects, and provide technical support in supplier selection.

The role requires reading engineering drawings and GD&T, knowledge of production concepts (casting, machining, fabrication, electrical panels & motors), and 3–4 years in sourcing & development.

Qualifications

• Should read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Knowledge of production concepts and processes (casting, machining, fabrication, electrical panels and motors).
• Minimum 3–4 years in sourcing and development.
• Proactive in anticipating problems.

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible for: Supplier Development, Run saving related projects to achieve yearly saving targets, Supplier Quality & Assurance.
• Indirectly responsible for: Inventory, Material availability.

Supplier Quality Assurance - Engineer

Job Description

Lead and manage the pro-active quality work with suppliers in handshake and NPD/EPD projects.
Advice R&D regarding cost effective design for manufacturing in NPD/EPD projects.
Act as technical support in supplier selection.

Knowledge and skills:

1. Should be able to read Engineering drawings, GD&T

2. Knowledge of production concept & processes like casting, machining, fabrication, electrical panels & motors

3. Should have experience of min. 3 to 4 years in Sourcing & development

4. Should be proactive in anticipating problems

Attitude and motivation:

Key relationships:

Direct reporting to Factory Sourcing Manager

Dotted reporting to Decanter Sourcing Manager

Engg, R&D, QC, Stores, Suppliers, Purchase
