Job summary

Kashida Apparels, a subsidiary of BIBA Fashion Limited, seeks a hands-on Sewing Operations Supervisor for its Dhamnod plant in Madhya Pradesh. You will lead a team of sewing operators, drive hourly/daily targets, and ensure adherence to BIBA’s quality and stitch standards to deliver consistent garment production.

You will implement line balancing, supervise training, coordinate maintenance, and uphold 5S practices to maintain a safe, efficient floor. Strong Hindi communication is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7 to 12 years of supervisory experience on the sewing floor of an apparel manufacturing unit (woven/knitted/ethnic wear preferred).
• Deep technical understanding of industrial sewing machinery (SNLS, Overlock, Flatlock, feed-off-the-arm, etc.) and garment construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily sewing line operations and target production outputs.
• Implement line balancing to optimize operator utilization.
• Enforce strict quality standards from panel to final stitch and reduce rework.
• Lead and train sewing operators, helpers, and line checkers.
• Coordinate maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure safety and 5S on the floor.
• Maintain daily production logs and report shortages or equipment issues.

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on, highly efficient Sewing Operations Supervisor to oversee and optimize daily sewing floor operations at our Dhamnod plant. In this role, you will lead a team of sewing operators, drive hourly/daily production targets, implement line balancing, and ensure that every garment meets BIBA’s strict quality and stitch standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Production & Line Balancing:
  • Manage day-to-day sewing line operations to meet or exceed target production outputs.
  • Execute effective line balancing techniques to optimize operator utilization, eliminate operational bottlenecks, and streamline Work-In-Progress (WIP).
• Quality & Defect Prevention:
  • Enforce strict quality standards from initial panel assembly to final garment stitch.
  • Conduct regular line audits to inspect stitching, measurements, seam quality, and finishing to keep rework and rejection rates minimal.
• Shop Floor Leadership & Skill Enhancement:
  • Supervise, guide, and motivate sewing operators, helpers, and line checkers across assigned lines.
  • Provide hands-on training to operators on stitching methods, specialized machine handling, and output efficiency.
• Machine Maintenance & Workplace Safety:
  • Coordinate closely with maintenance technicians to ensure timely machine servicing and minimize machine breakdown downtime.
  • Maintain strict compliance with workplace safety rules, needle breakage/control policies, and 5S cleanliness standards on the floor.
• Reporting & Floor Administration:
  • Maintain daily production logs, target vs. actual reports, attendance records, and efficiency data.
  • Promptly report material shortages, fabric flaws, or equipment issues to the Production Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: 7 to 12 years of supervisory experience on the sewing floor of a apparel manufacturing unit (woven/knitted/ethnic wear preferred).
• Deep technical understanding of industrial sewing machinery (SNLS, Overlock, Flatlock, feed-off-the-arm, etc.) and garment construction processes.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Excellent floor management, team coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
• Focus on high line efficiency, quality assurance, and tight production deadlines.
• Good communication skills in Hindi (and knowledge of local operational language).
