Job summary

Citco in Mumbai seeks an experienced accounting professional to maintain books and records, review financial statements, and manage ledgers for the asset management and fund administration sectors.

You will supervise junior staff, coordinate with on-shore stakeholders, and ensure timely deliverables including year-end processes and audits. Strong IFRS/US GAAP knowledge and Yardi experience are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• Minimum 6–8 years experience in accounting for financial services (Real Estate, Asset Management or Fund Administration).
• Knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP is a plus.
• Experience in reviewing and preparing general ledger and financial statements.
• IFRS accounting and consolidations knowledge is advantageous.
• Excellent communication in English (verbal and written).
• Strong client relationship management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Supervisory experience leading staff for 2 years.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; Yardi experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and/or calculate carried interest, performance and incentive fees.
• Coordinate and/or process payments and other transactions.
• Supervise junior staff and sign off on work.
• Serve as primary contact with on-site stakeholders.

About You:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business related area and/or studying for a professional accounting qualification (ie. CA, CPA equivalent)
• Minimum of 6- 8 years experience in accounting for the financial services sector, particularly Real Estate, Asset Management or Fund Administration.
• Knowledge of IFRS and / or US GAAP is an added advantage
• Experienced in reviewing and preparing general ledger and financial statements.
• Established knowledge in relation to accounting and consolidations under IFRS is an added advantage
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English (both verbal and written).

Your Role:

• Maintaining books and records;
• Reviewing and/or preparing financial statements and associated reports, including performance metrics;
• Reviewing and/or calculating carried interest/performance/incentive fees;
• Coordinating and/or processing payments and other transactions;
• Supervising junior staff, reviewing and signing off on work performed;
• Acting as a primary day-to-day contact with on-shore stakeholders
• Monitor Senior/Fund Accountants progression and identify areas for training and development;
• Assist Senior Vice President to coordinate team to meet recurring and ad-hoc client deliverables, including year-end process with respect to audit timelines, financial statement preparation, regulatory filings, tax services etc ;
• Participating in projects that may be defined from time to time in connection with the continuing expansion and evolution of the business;
• Identifying and escalating any material issues effecting service delivery to the Assistant Vice President;
• Any other functions required as part of the business of the Company, and reporting to the Assistant Vice President.
