Job summary

Synergy Marine Group seeks a Marine Superintendent to provide shore support for our vessel fleet, focusing on navigation, cargo, health, safety, and environmental issues in line with SMS and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a Master Mariner FG with proven experience sailing as Master on ocean-going vessels, especially Oil and Chemical Tankers, and the ability to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient vessel operations across the fleet.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with SMS procedures, forms and checklists.
• Adhere to IMO, Flag, port state regulations and MACN policy.
• Oversee security-related compliance and incident investigations.
• Coordinate ISM/ISPS/MLC audits and audits by PSC, class and third parties.
• Lead root cause analysis, RCA reporting and corrective actions.
• Support CMS for incident investigations and RCA follow-ups.
• Maintain fleet KPIs and drive continual SMS improvements.
• Inform management of SMS amendments and process changes.

Job description

To provide shore support to vessels by handling their day to day operational issues in accordance with the company guidelines, port specific requirements, flag, and international regulations.

This involves the overseeing of the daily operations of vessels with specific importance given to Navigation, cargo, occupational health, safety, and environment aspects.

Ensuring that the vessels are operated in a safe and efficient manner, which will ensure reduced or zero incidents, and directly ensure satisfied clients and in line with our company’s QHSE policy, for a better and brighter development of business.

The Marine superintendent is accountable for the following:

• 1) Compliance with company SMS procedures, forms, and checklists.
• 2) Compliance with IMO, Flag, and port state regulations.
• 3) MACN policy compliance.
• 4) Security related compliance.
• 5) Contingency assistance to the vessels at any time.
• 6) Ensure favourable results from PSC, Rightship, Flag, Class, P&I, third party inspections and audits.
• 7) Incident investigation, Root cause analysis and report making.
• 8) Extending hand to CMS for the compliance of Incident Investigations and RCA.
• 9) Carrying out and arranging of ISM/ISPS/MLC audits.
• 10) Ensuring that the vessels are technically managed keeping within the barriers of our SMS.
• 11) Ensure that the KPIs declared for the fleet are maintained.
• 12) Continual Improvement to be determined, monitored, and accomplished.
• 13) Any amendments needed in the SMS to be informed to the management.
• 14) Ensure to be a helping hand to the company and its team and a person to be looked upon.
