Job summary

VOLVE in Mumbai is seeking a highly organized Studio Manager to own the day-to-day running of the studio and deliver an exceptional experience for customers, instructors, guests and the VOLVE community.

The role covers opening/closing, class and events scheduling, customer inquiries, bookings and admin tasks, with a strong emphasis on cleanliness, brand standards and proactive problem solving. Based in Mumbai, you will coordinate with instructors and vendors and drive operational ownership.

Job description

VOLVE is a premium dance, fitness, wellness and creative movement studio in Mumbai, built around Arts Movement Community Transformation.

We are looking for a highly organised, responsible and people-focused Studio Manager who can take ownership of the day-to-day functioning of the studio and ensure an exceptional experience for customers, instructors, guests and the wider VOLVE community.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage the daily opening, operation and closing of the VOLVE studios.
• Ensure classes, personal training sessions, workshops, events and studio hires run smoothly and on time.
• Manage customer enquiries, walk-ins, bookings, cancellations and membership-related assistance.
• Coordinate with instructors, trainers, guest artists and internal team members regarding schedules and studio requirements.
• Maintain the master studio schedule and identify or resolve scheduling conflicts.
• Operate VOLVE Admin 2.0 for bookings, attendance, customer records, schedules, payments and operational tasks.
• Monitor customer check-ins and ensure required customer forms and records are completed.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, lighting, equipment and overall studio ambience.
• Conduct daily checks of both studio spaces, reception, changing/common areas and equipment.
• Manage studio hire arrivals, handovers and operational requirements.
• Assist with workshops, masterclasses, events, shoots and special VOLVE experiences.
• Handle customer concerns professionally and escape serious matters when required.
• Maintain accurate operational records, incident records, attendance and daily reports.
• Coordinate with management regarding maintenance, vendors, housekeeping and repairs.
• Monitor consumables and studio supplies and ensure timely replenishment.
• Support lead generation and conversion of walk-ins, trial customers and enquiries.
• Help maintain VOLVEs premium brand standards across every customer touchpoint.
• Ensure studio policies, safety procedures and operational processes are followed.
• Provide management with regular updates on studio activity, customer feedback and operational issues.
• Take ownership of problems and work proactively to resolve them rather than waiting for instructions.

Preferred candidate profile

We are looking for someone who is professional, warm, dependable and extremely organised.

The ideal candidate should:

• Have previous experience in studio operations, hospitality, fitness, wellness, dance, events, retail, customer service or a similar customer-facing business.
• Be comfortable managing multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-moving environment.
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be confident speaking with customers, instructors, artists, vendors and senior management.
• Have good computer and smartphone skills and be comfortable learning booking/admin software.
• Have strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Be punctual and capable of independently managing a studio.
• Have a problem-solving mindset and remain calm during operational issues.
• Understand the importance of cleanliness, presentation and premium customer experience.
• Be comfortable working flexible hours depending on classes, workshops and events.
• Be based in Mumbai or able to commute reliably to the studio.

Experience in dance, fitness, wellness, hospitality or creative industries is preferred but not mandatory.
