Job summary

Surbana Jurong Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer with 7+ years in the building sector to lead analysis, design, and coordination for diverse projects in India.

You will perform seismic analysis per IS codes and engage in international projects using Eurocodes or ACI/ASCE/AISC standards, guiding junior engineers and coordinating with cross-functional teams. This role is based in Chennai, India with a focus on delivering safe, compliant structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 7+ years of experience in the building sector.
• Proficiency in IS codes including seismic design.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of RCC and steel structures for building projects.
• Develop design solutions compliant with Indian codes (IS codes) and project specifications.
• Carry out seismic analysis & design as per IS 1893, IS 13920, and relevant standards.
• Prepare design calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Review and check structural designs prepared by junior engineers and external consultants.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, geotechnical teams, and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Work on international projects using Eurocodes or American standards (ACI, ASCE, AISC).
• Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and client meetings.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure adherence to best engineering practices.
• Support proposal, bid preparation, and technical documentation where required.

Job description

Looking for a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer with over 7 years of expertise in the building sector. The candidate will be responsible for structural analysis, design, and coordination for residential, commercial, and institutional buildings. The role requires strong proficiency in Indian standards (IS Codes) including seismic design, along with working knowledge of international codes such as Eurocodes and American (ACI/ASCE/AISC) standards.

Experience in global design centers in India handling international projects will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
