Job summary

A local engineering firm in Chennai is seeking a Structural BIM Modeler. The role involves producing 3D models and coordinating with engineers and clients. Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience with Revit/BIM, strong communication skills, and a collaborative spirit. This is a full-time position with a yearly bonus and a day shift from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience in preparing structural construction documents using Revit/BIM.
• Strong understanding of how a building comes together.
• Ability to think in 3-D.
• Proficiency with written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D models consistent with instruction, industry guidelines, and KP&J A&E standards and practices.


• Clearly annotate, dimension, and detail 2D production drawings in conformance to KP&J standards and practices.


• Manage the BIM workflow including folder organization, sheet sets, geo-location, plots, conversions, and transmittals.


• Maintain structural BIM / CAD files for use in the structural design drawings (clean-up, audit, reference, troubleshooting).


• Interface with engineers and clients to coordinate BIM modelling content and approaches, model exchanges, quality control, and delivery.


• Use tools such as Navisworks for project collaboration across multiple disciplines.


• Prepare and review project deliverables for client submissions.


• Create 3D views or renderings on an as-needed basis for marketing or project use.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience in preparing structural construction documents using Revit/BIM project delivery.


• Up-to-date knowledge and expertise with Revit software


• Up-to-date knowledge and expertise with Autocad software


• Strong understanding of how a building comes together


• Ability to think in 3-D


• Ability to draw sections and details with minimal input from the engineer


• Proficiency with written and verbal communication skills
