Job summary

KP and J Engineers Private Limited is seeking a Structural Designer in Chennai to develop 3D models and 2D drawings in line with KP&J A&E standards. You will manage BIM workflows, coordinate with engineers/clients, and produce deliverables for submissions.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of Revit/BIM experience, strong Revit/AutoCAD skills, and a solid understanding of how buildings come together, with good 3D visualization and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in preparing structural construction documents using Revit/BIM project delivery.
• Up-to-date knowledge and expertise with Revit software.
• Up-to-date knowledge and expertise with AutoCAD software.
• Strong understanding of how a building comes together.
• Ability to think in 3-D.
• Ability to draw sections and details with minimal input from the engineer.
• Proficiency with written and verbal communication skills.
• The ideal candidate will enjoy being part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D models consistent with instruction, industry guidelines, and KP&J A&E standards and practices.
• Annotate, dimension, and detail 2D production drawings in conformance to KP&J standards and practices.
• Manage the BIM workflow including folder organization, sheet sets, geo-location, plots, conversions, and transmittals.
• Maintain structural BIM / CAD files for use in the structural design drawings (clean-up, audit, reference, troubleshooting).
• Interface with engineers and clients to coordinate BIM modelling content and approaches, model exchanges, quality control, and delivery.
• Use Navisworks for project collaboration across multiple disciplines.
• Prepare and review project deliverables for client submissions.
• Create 3D views or renderings on an as-needed basis for marketing or project use.
