Job summary

Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transit System (DIMTS) is seeking an experienced civil and structural design engineer for railway and metro infrastructure projects in Delhi. You will lead design for stations, depots, viaducts, bridges, and foundations, and prepare technical reports, drawings, and calculations.

The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, and MIDAS Civil, with a strong grasp of IS codes and Indian Railway/Metro standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the civil and structural design of railway and metro infrastructure projects including stations, depots, viaducts, bridges, foundations, and retaining structures.
• Prepare and review design calculations, structural models, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Perform structural analysis and design for RCC, steel, foundations, superstructures, retaining walls, and other components.
• Conduct slope stability, foundation settlement, soil‑structure interaction, and related geotechnical assessments.
• Prepare and review GFC, As‑Built, detailed engineering, and construction drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and other software.
• Develop structural models and perform analysis using STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, MIDAS Civil.
• Ensure designs comply with IS Codes, Indian Railway/Metro standards, AISC, and project specs.
• Coordinate with architectural, MEP, geotechnical, track, signalling, electrical, and other teams.
• Review and approve shop drawings, technical submittals, method statements, RFIs, and contractor submissions.
• Conduct site inspections and construction visits to verify design implementation.
• Provide engineering solutions for site constraints, design changes, and construction issues.
• Support project planning, scheduling, cost estimation, BOQ prep, procurement, and risk assessment.
• Prepare variation orders, extension‑of‑time letters, bid proposals, and other contractual docs.

• Perform structural analysis and design for RCC, steel, foundations, superstructures, retaining walls, and other infrastructure components.
• Conduct slope stability, foundation settlement, soil-structure interaction, and related geotechnical assessments.
• Prepare and review GFC, As-Built, detailed engineering, and construction drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and other relevant software.
• Develop structural models and perform analysis using STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, MIDAS Civil, and similar engineering software.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable IS Codes, Indian Railway/Metro standards, AISC, project specifications, and statutory requirements.

• Review project deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, constructability, cost-effectiveness, and timely completion.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, railway/metro authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Support and monitor QA/QC procedures, design checking, safety requirements, and statutory compliance.
• Prepare technical reports, design documentation, engineering correspondence, and project records.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering, sustainable design, material optimization, and cost-effective solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design team members.

Manage multiple design deliverables and ensure completion within approved project schedules and deadlines

Preferred candidate profile

Key Qualifications:

• Education: B.Tech. / B.E. (Civil Engineering) or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in civil and structural design for railway/metro, urban transit, or large infrastructure projects. Experience with railway systems is highly preferred.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in engineering software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, Revit, and MS Office Suite. Familiarity with Bentlay software is a plus.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of structural analysis, design principles, and local (e.g., Indian Railway Manual/ Code, AISC, IS codes).

Working Conditions

• Full-time position with a combination of office-based design work and project/site visits.
• Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet critical project deadlines and deliverables.
• Travel to project sites, client offices, and other project locations may be required.
• The role involves working closely with multidisciplinary engineering, construction, and project management teams.
