Job summary

Khatib & Alami is seeking a Lead / Associate Engineer skilled in Stormwater & Drainage Design to lead urban drainage projects and international assignments from Bengaluru. The role emphasizes technical leadership, design delivery, and coordination with clients and authorities.

The candidate will oversee hydraulic modelling, master planning, and compliance with local and international standards, guiding teams and ensuring high-quality outcomes for complex projects.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Civil Engineering; ME/MTech in Water Resources, Hydraulics, or Environmental Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 10 years experience, including 8+ years in core Stormwater & Drainage Design.
• Strong proficiency with SewerGEMS, StormCAD, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and MS Office.
• Experience in stormwater networks, flood management, drainage master planning, catchment analysis, and SuDS.
• Gulf/Middle East or international project experience with authority approval exposure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead stormwater and drainage planning, design, hydraulic modelling, and project delivery.
• Review and develop concept, detailed and tender designs, calculations, technical reports, and specifications.
• Perform/review hydraulic and hydrologic models using SewerGEMS, StormCAD, Civil 3D and related tools.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, consultants, and authorities for design development and approvals.
• Drive value engineering, design optimization, QA/QC, and technical compliance.
• Mentor engineers/modelers and provide technical leadership across projects.
• Apply BS, EN, AASHTO, WMO, SuDS and relevant local authority standards.
