Job summary

VySystems is seeking an experienced Senior Storage Engineer to administer and optimize an enterprise storage stack across NetApp, HPE Alletra, HSX Storage and Dell EMC Data Domain. You will manage AWS FSx, SAN/NAS environments, DR planning, and data protection in a hybrid cloud setting.

You will lead provisioning, replication, performance monitoring, and vendor coordination while collaborating with Linux/Windows/VMware teams to ensure high availability.

• Administer and support enterprise storage platforms including multi-vendor environments.
• Perform storage provisioning, volume/LUN creation, host mapping, capacity management and expansion.
• Manage NAS and SAN environments (NFS, SMB/CIFS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel).
• Configure and manage NetApp features: SVMs, aggregates, volumes, LUNs, snapshots, SnapMirror, FlexVol/FlexClone.
• Monitor storage capacity, latency, IOPS, throughput, and health; troubleshoot performance and connectivity issues.
• Coordinate with vendors for incidents and escalations; participate in L2/L3 incident, problem and change management.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Storage Engineer / Storage SME responsible for the administration, engineering, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and lifecycle management of enterprise storage infrastructure.

The candidate should have strong hands-on experience with NetApp, HPE Alletra, HSX Storage, Dell EMC Data Domain, and AWS FSx, along with good knowledge of SAN/NAS technologies, storage replication, backup, disaster recovery, and cloud storage.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise storage platforms including:
• HPE Alletra
• HSX Storage
• Dell EMC Data Domain
• Perform storage provisioning, volume/LUN creation, host mapping, capacity management, and storage expansion.
• Manage NAS and SAN environments using NFS, SMB/CIFS, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel.
• Configure and manage NetApp:

• Replication and DR
• Manage HPE Alletra storage including volumes, hosts, protection policies, snapshots, replication, and performance monitoring.
• Administer Dell EMC Data Domain for backup storage, deduplication, replication, capacity management, and troubleshooting.
• Manage AWS FSx, particularly FSx for NetApp ONTAP, including SVMs, volumes, NFS/SMB shares, snapshots, replication, and performance/capacity management. AAWS Documentation
• Support hybrid connectivity and data movement between on-premises storage and AWS.
• Perform storage migrations, technology refreshes, firmware upgrades, and controller/storage expansions.
• Monitor storage capacity, latency, IOPS, throughput, utilization, and overall system health.
• Troubleshoot storage performance, connectivity, multipathing, replication, and availability issues.
• Participate in L2/L3 incident, problem, and change management.
• Develop and maintain storage backup, retention, high-availability, and disaster-recovery solutions.
• Perform DR testing and validate replication/recovery procedures.
• Coordinate with vendors such as NetApp, HPE, Dell EMC, and AWS for critical incidents and escalations.
• Create operational documentation, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Automate routine storage administration using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or storage CLI/API where applicable.
• Work closely with server, Linux/Windows, VMware, database, network, backup, security, and cloud teams.
