Job summary

STL Digital is seeking a Storage And Backup Lead to oversee backup and storage architecture for hybrid infrastructure across OpenShift, Kubernetes, SAN, and databases. You will drive DR drills, data protection, and high-availability strategies while mentoring L1/L2 teams and coordinating with Veeam and storage OEM vendors.

The role requires 8–12 years of experience in backup, storage, DC & DR within large industrial settings, and a Bachelor's degree in IT/engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, IT, or related field.
• 8–12 years of experience in backup, storage, DC & DR, IT operations in large industrial or manufacturing setups.
• Proficiency with ITAM/ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Helix, ManageEngine.
• Understanding of software licensing models and compliance audits.
• Experience with React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and governance of enterprise backup and storage solutions across hybrid infra.
• Design backup architecture using Veeam for hybrid workloads (VM, containers, DB).
• Define backup policies, retention, replication, and DR strategy.
• Lead implementation for Kubernetes/OpenShift backup including etcd, control plane, workloads.
• Design backup solutions for KubeVirt VM workloads with snapshot integration; ensure SQL Always-On DR.
• Manage SAN architecture, replication, snapshots, performance optimization; drive DR drills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and governance of enterprise backup and storage solutions across hybrid infrastructure including OpenShift, Kubernetes, SAN, and databases ensuring high availability, data protection, and disaster recovery readiness
• Design enterprise backup architecture using Veeam for hybrid workloads (VM,containers, DB).
• Define backup policies, retention, replication, and disaster recovery strategy.
• Lead implementation for Kubernetes/OpenShift backup including etcd, control plane, and workloads.
• Design backup solutions for KubeVirt VM workloads with snapshot integration. Ensure database backup strategy for MS SQL Always-On and point-in-time recovery. Manage SAN architecture, replication, snapshots, and performance optimization. Drive DR drills, BCP readiness, and recovery SLA adherence.
• Lead incident management for backup failures and data recovery scenarios. Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, 22301, and audit frameworks.
• Mentor L1/L2 team and manage vendors (Veeam, storage OEMs)
