Job summary

Anunta is seeking a Backup Engineer with hands-on Veritas NetBackup experience to support, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise backup and storage environments. Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in Backup/Storage or IT Infrastructure support.
• Hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup.
• Good understanding of backup and recovery concepts.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of SAN/NAS storage technologies.
• Exposure to VMware/Hyper-V environments.
• Experience with monitoring and ITSM/ticketing tools such as ServiceNow.
• Good troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily backup operations using Veritas NetBackup.
• Troubleshoot backup failures, alerts, media, and network issues.
• Execute file-, VM-, and application-level restores.
• Manage backup policies, schedules, retention, and storage usage.
• Support disk-based and tape-based backups, including VTL/LTO.
• Handle incidents and service requests within SLAs.
• Perform RCA for recurring and critical backup issues.
• Coordinate with Storage, OS, Database, Network, and Application teams.
• Support backup upgrades, patches, migrations, and DR activities.
• Maintain SOPs, operational documentation, and knowledge articles.
• Support ITIL-based Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes.
• Provide guidance to junior team members and support handovers.
