The role ensures data integrity, availability, and security across on‑premises and virtual environments, reporting to the DC Manager/Infrastructure Head. You will administer Veeam backups, design Kubernetes/OpenShift virtualization backups, manage SQL Always‑On backups, monitor jobs, run restore drills, and coordinate with network/server/db teams to meet ISO/ISMS security and audit

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of hands-on enterprise backup, storage, and virtualization experience.
• Proficiency in Veeam Backup & Replication for on‑premises and virtual environments.
• Experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift (basic to intermediate).
• Knowledge of KubeVirt VM backup and recovery concepts.
• Knowledge of MS SQL Backup and Always‑On configurations.
• Experience with SAN storage systems (NetApp & Lenovo).
• Linux and Windows server administration fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the Veeam Backup & Replication environment for on‑premises and virtual workloads.
• Design and implement backup strategies for Kubernetes clusters and OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt) VMs.
• Manage snapshot-based backups and ensure point‑in‑time recovery capabilities.
• Support MS SQL Enterprise Always‑On availability groups with backup and recovery planning.
• Monitor backup jobs, resolve failures, and ensure SLA compliance.
• Conduct regular restore drills and validate recovery readiness.
• Manage SAN storage provisioning, performance monitoring, and capacity planning (NetApp, Lenovo).
• Collaborate with network, server, and database teams to align backup processes with infrastructure needs.

Summary:

The Storage and Backup Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, availability, and security of enterprise data across on-premises and virtualized environments. Reporting to the DC Manager/Infrastructure Head, this individual is responsible for the administration, monitoring, and optimization of backup, storage, and virtualization systems. The role focuses on maintaining high availability and disaster recovery readiness through robust backup strategies for Veeam, Kubernetes/OpenShift (KubeVirt), MS SQL Always-On, and SAN storage (NetApp & Lenovo). The administrator ensures compliance with security and audit standards (ISO/ISMS), drives SLA adherence, and collaborates cross-functionally with network, server, and database teams to deliver resilient data protection solutions.
