Job summary

Campus Activewear in Delhi, India, seeks a seasoned production lead for footwear stitching and upper manufacturing. You will plan daily production, monitor line performance, ensure quality, and drive on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates bring 10–15 years of footwear stitching experience, a diploma/degree in related fields, and strong Lean/Six Sigma knowledge. You will mentor supervisors and collaborate with Quality, Maintenance and HR teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Footwear Technology or related field.
• 10-15 years of hands-on footwear stitching/upper manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading large shop-floor teams and multiple stitching lines.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma or continuous improvement.
• Proven ability to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end stitching/upper manufacturing operations for footwear production.
• Plan daily production to meet order requirements and achieve output targets.
• Monitor line productivity, manpower deployment, machine utilisation and efficiency.
• Ensure quality of stitched uppers and reduce defects, rework and rejection levels.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, IE, Maintenance, Planning and HR teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Kaizen, 5S and waste reduction.
• Train supervisors, line leaders and operators on quality, safety, process discipline and productivity.
• Ensure SOP compliance, safety standards and audit readiness.
• Analyze production losses and implement corrective actions.
• Support new style development and smooth transition to bulk production.
• Prepare and review MIS on production, quality, manpower, efficiency and rejection.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end stitching/upper manufacturing operations for footwear production.
• Plan daily production as per order requirements and ensure achievement of output targets.
• Monitor line productivity, manpower deployment, machine utilisation and efficiency.
• Ensure quality of stitched uppers and reduce defects, rework and rejection levels.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Maintenance, Planning and HR teams.
• Improve line balancing, cycle time, SMV, capacity utilisation and on-time delivery.
• Ensure availability of raw material, components, thread, upper material and trims before production starts.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Kaizen, 5S and waste reduction.
• Train supervisors, line leaders and operators on quality, safety, process discipline and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety standards, labour practices and audit requirements.
• Analyse production losses, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Support new style development, sample trials and smooth transition from development to bulk production.
• Prepare and review daily, weekly and monthly MIS on production, quality, manpower, efficiency and rejection.

Key Skills Required

• Strong experience in footwear stitching, upper manufacturing and production operations.
• Knowledge of stitching machines, line balancing, SMV, productivity and capacity planning.
• Understanding of footwear upper components, materials, quality parameters and production processes.
• Experience in managing large shop-floor teams and multiple stitching lines.
• Strong problem-solving, people management and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma or continuous improvement practices.

Qualification & Experience

• Diploma/Degree in Footwear Technology, Production, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 1015 years of experience in footwear stitching/upper manufacturing
