Job summary

Prithvi Inner Wears Private Limited in Tamil Nadu's South Zone seeks a Sewing Operator with 1-2 years of experience to join the Production team. You will operate sewing machines safely and stitch components according to samples and specs.

Maintain stitch quality, inspect fabric, report defects, meet hourly targets, and collaborate with Team Leader to ensure smooth production. Training will be provided; opportunity for growth in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 12th Std is required or equivalent.
• Basic sewing knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate the sewing machine safely and efficiently.
• Stitch components per sample, bulletin and specs.
• Maintain stitch quality, seam allowances and garment measurements.
• Check fabric and pieces before starting work.
• Identify and report defects such as skipped or broken stitches and puckering.
• Meet production targets and hourly output.
• Follow proper sewing methods and sequences.
• Carry out basic machine cleaning and report issues.
• Minimize wastage of fabric and thread.
• Coordinate with Team Leader and colleagues for smooth flow.
• Attend training and follow supervisor instructions.
• Perform other production duties as assigned.

Job Description

• Operate the assigned sewing machine safely and efficiently.
• Stitch garment components according to the approved sample, operation bulletin, and specifications.
• Maintain required stitch quality, seam allowance, and garment measurements.
• Check fabric and garment pieces before starting the operation.
• Identify and report defects such as skip stitches, broken stitches, open seams, puckering, uneven stitching, and needle damage.
• Maintain the required production target and hourly output.
• Follow the correct sewing method and operation sequence.
• Carry out basic machine cleaning and inform the Sewing Team Leader/Maintenance Team about machine problems.
• Minimize fabric, thread, and other material wastage.
• Segregate defective pieces and send them for necessary correction or rework.
• Maintain good housekeeping around the workstation.
• Follow all safety, PPE, quality, and company procedures.
• Coordinate with the Team Leader, Checker, and other operators to maintain smooth production flow.
• Handle garments and materials carefully to prevent damage and contamination.
