Job summary

State Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing theimplementation of the Maternal Cash schemes and comprehensive SBCC initiativewithin the state, ensuring alignment with the overall project goals anddeliverables. She/he will lead the coordination with all governmentstakeholders for design and rollout of interventions aimed to strengthengovernment initiatives focused on maternal and child nutrition.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and support the execution of theoverall project strategy at the state level, ensuring compliance with theapproved project deliverables, budget and work plan.
• Ensure timely development of SOPs, job aids, trainingmodules for various project interventions.
• Ensure that project activities are designed and approved atthe state level through the appropriate government authorities.
• Rrepresent the project/organisation and participate instate-level monitoring and coordination meetings conducted by governmentofficials (WCD and others).
• Establish and maintain a robust monitoring and technicalsupport mechanism at the state level.

Project management

• Oversee the coordination, management, supervision, andmonitoring of all project activities at the state level.
• Analyse project performance trends, identify implementationchallenges, and take timely corrective and coordinated actions to ensureachievement of deliverables and result.
• Ensure state level reporting, enable visualization throughdashboards for better evidence-based programming for the state officials.
• Facilitate knowledge creation and management processes byenabling documentation of lessons learned, success stories, and best practicesby responsible team members.
• Maintain effective communication and coordination with teammembers and key stakeholders to ensure cohesive implementation and timely issueresolution.
• Actively participate on monthly review meetings at thenational and state level with the project teams.
• Facilitate dissemination campaigns at the state level forsharing program insights and learnings with relevant national and localstakeholders.
• Coordinate with the nodal departments in the State forimproving inter-sectoral coordination and project implementation.
• Identify, establish and foster external partnerships withlocal CSRs or funding agencies that will contribute to the overall success ofthe project.

As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the state teamlead may be required to undertake other duties as determined by the ProjectDirector that are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.

Qualification & Experience

• Advanced university degree in Management/ Public Health/Public Policy/Social Sciences/Economics with minimum 15 years of experience inmanaging large projects/ programmes preferably Maternal and Child Healthprograms.
• At least 4-5 years of experience of working in the statewith the government officials as technical support or direct implementationexperience through donor funded programs.
• Proficient in local language (writing, reading andspeaking).
• Experience in developing robust monitoring and reportingsystems for state level evaluations and impact assessments.
• Demonstrated experience building and leading strategicpartnerships with key stakeholders from diverse sectors including NGOs,government, and the private sector.
• Sound understanding of program data and proficiency in usingMS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills especiallyfor donor engagement and high-level representation of the project andorganization.
• Ability to take up exhaustive travel within the state, atleast 10 days in a month and to other parts of the country if required.
• Experience in implementing large scale cash transferprogrammes or direct benefits transfer.
• Good operational understanding of women and childdevelopment, health and family welfare and rural development sectors andprogrammes.
• Preference will be given to those who have previousexperience of working with demanding clients, private foundations, andcorporates.
