The role requires 12+ years of relevant experience, strong vendor and contract management, ERP/Oracle proficiency, and a track record of cost optimization. You will drive compliance with government procedures, manage supplier relationships, and mentor SCM staff across multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely supply of materials at right prices and quantities.
• Ensure compliance with government procurement procedures.
• Own procurement for medical consumables, equipment, IT, spares, and fleet tyres.
• Own services procurement: transportation, AMC for generators, security staffing.
• Handle new launches procurement incl. call centre, ambulance setup, tenders.
• Ensure storage compliance for drugs & consumables.
• Train staff on SCM activities.
• Draft agreements and SLAs; manage liability & vendor contracts.
• Map business processes for SCM control at micro level.
• Share best practices across states.
• Develop supplier base and vendor management; logistics.
• Inventory & warehouse management in ERP.
• Develop strategic suppliers and metrics for performance.
• Ensure accurate purchase forecasting and avoid stock-out days.
• Process vendor bills timely and manage payments.

Role & responsibilities

• Ensuring supply of material at the right time in right quantities and at right prices.


• Ensuring compliance with the Government procurement procedures. Ensure transparency at all stages of procurement.


• Total ownership of procuring materials like Medical consumables, Medical Equipment, IT equipment, Spares and Tyres for Fleet.


• Total ownership for procurement of services like employee transportation service, AMC for Generators, UPS, Security staffing and other Corporate Services related activities.


• Total ownership for procurement of material and services at the time of any new launch including setting up of call centre, ambulance procurement to fabrication and organizing all the tenders in fair and transparent manner.


• To put in place all statutory compliances for the storage of Drugs and medical consumables.


• Ensure training for staff on various activities of SCM.


• Drafting the agreements to limit the liabilities of organization at the time of procurement, defining service level agreements and signing the agreements.


• Mapping the business processes for smooth running and effective control at micro level on various SCM functions like Purchase and Inventory Management.


• Effectively pass on the learning/best practices from one state to another.


• Effective supplier development, vendor management and Logistics.

• Providing guidance to all 10 states in the procurement processes.


• Eliminate the middlemen and facilitate procurement directly with the OEMs.

Preferred candidate profile

• 12+ years of post-qualification, relevant procurement experience, including at least 4+ years in people management roles.


• Strong experience in procurement, contract management, and vendor management, with a proven track record of driving efficiency, value creation, and cost optimization.


• Demonstrated expertise in sourcing and managing categories.


• Exceptional negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making capabilities.


• Hands‑on experience with ERP and Oracle.


• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data‑driven decision‑making, financial analysis, and cost‑saving initiatives.


• Financial and analytical acumen: direct track record of delivering cost savings, managing budgets, and driving TCO optimization.


• Educational credentials: graduate degree in engineering, business, or supply chain management (MBA, PGDM, or equivalent preferred).
