Job summary

Magic Bus is seeking a senior leader to drive the Scaling Teacher-Led Intervention in partnership with Government agencies. The role demands extensive leadership experience in the social development sector, strong stakeholder engagement, and expertise in program planning and reporting.

You will manage a large team, coordinate with Education departments and district officials, ensure timely training delivery, and monitor progress, budgets, and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Social Sciences or equivalent.
  • 15+ years in social development with 7+ years in a leadership role, preferably with Government agencies.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading large teams.
  • High ethical standards, transparency and accountability.
  • Experience in Government partnerships and multi-stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, interpersonal and managerial skills.
  • Strong report writing, documentation and MIS tracking.
  • Fluency in English and local language is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for Scaling Teacher-Led Intervention in partnership with Government.
  • Build and lead a team; plan monthly activities and monitor performance.
  • Guide project strategy and ensure timely achievement of objectives.
  • Foster strong partnerships with Government offices and officials.
  • Plan and deliver training to Master Trainers, teachers and staff.
  • Coordinate meetings; document minutes and maintain records.
  • Ensure programme delivery in coordination with HR, Finance, Admin and IT.
  • Submit timely narrative and financial reports with the Regional Office.
  • Review progress, budgets and financial status regularly.
  • Uphold the organisation’s values, policies and conduct.

Job description

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Masters degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Social Sciences, or an equivalent qualification.
  • 15+ years of experience in the social development sector, with a strong understanding of the education sector and at least 7 years of experience in a similar leadership role, preferably working with Government Agencies.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading large teams.
  • High ethical and moral standards, with a strong commitment to transparency and accountability.
  • Demonstrated experience in Government partnerships and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, interpersonal, and managerial skills.
  • Strong experience in report writing, documentation, and MIS tracking.
  • Fluency in English and the relevant local language is mandatory.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide strategic leadership and support the implementation of the Scaling Teacher-Led Intervention in Partnership with Government” programme.
  • Build, lead, and manage a team of professionals; prepare monthly team plans and regularly monitor project activities and performance.
  • Provide strategic direction to the project and team to ensure effective and timely achievement of programme objectives.
  • Build strong partnerships and work closely with Government offices, including the Department of Education, SCERT, DIET, district-level officials, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely planning and delivery of training to relevant stakeholders, including Master Trainers, teachers, and project staff.
  • Coordinate and document meetings with Government Departments, including preparation of minutes and maintaining records for internal and external purposes.
  • Ensure successful programme implementation in coordination with Human Resources, Finance, Administration, IT, and other functional teams.
  • Prepare and submit timely narrative and financial reports in close coordination with the Regional Office and relevant functional teams.
  • Regularly review and monitor programme progress, deliverables, budgets, and financial status.
  • Uphold the organisation’s values, policies, ethical standards, and professional conduct at all levels of the intervention.
  • Be accountable for programme delivery, outreach, implementation quality, stakeholder engagement, and overall project outcomes.
