Job summary

Google Bengaluru is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the Megamind, Geo Moderation Service. You will own outcomes, solve ambiguous problems, and influence stakeholders while shaping critical parts of our maps infrastructure.

You will lead a distributed team, define technical direction, and build scalable systems across geo data, storage, and compute platforms to support billions of Maps users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects. Build scalable infrastructure to help maintain trust for UGC for all Geo products.
• Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
• Define and execute the technical strategy. Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large scale software solutions.
