Job summary

Commonwealth Bank in Bengaluru is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and deliver enterprise-grade .NET backend services, microservices, and RESTful APIs. You will lead CI/CD initiatives, leverage AWS, and collaborate with multiple squads to build scalable cloud applications.

The role requires a strong debugging mindset, automation expertise, and hands-on experience in cloud platforms, testing strategies, and DevOps practices within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience as a .NET Backend engineer.
• Strong knowledge of MVC with .NET Core, REST APIs, Microservices; experience with .NET Framework is helpful but not must have.
• Experience in test automation (Selenium) and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using .NET Core and C#.
• Lead CI/CD strategies and deploy pipelines.
• Operate and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy.
• Automate repetitive tasks with Python, Shell, and PowerShell.

• Work with application teams to ensure cloud platform stability and security.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Cycle Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, testing, and automation, with a passion for DevOps and a systematic approach to solving complex problems. This role requires excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, experience in leading teams, and a deep understanding of the infrastructure that runs .NET applications

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain applications using technologies such as C# /.NetCore.
• Hands‑on experience on cloud technologies, especially AWS.
• Design and implement Microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Lead and deploy CI/CD strategies, ensuring the stability and security of the cloud platform.
• Operate and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub (actions), TeamCity, Artifactory, and Octopus Deploy.
• Automate repetitive tasks using Python, shell scripting, and PowerShell.
• Drive automation through understanding processes and implementing improvements.
• Develop test automation frameworks and strategies, focusing on Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), and DevOps.
• Conduct Web services and API testing using tools like POSTMAN/Bruno etc.
• Work with various application teams to ensure the stability and security of the cloud platform.
• Ensure excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills on applications.
• Implement and maintain logging and monitoring solutions using CloudWatch, AppDynamics, Splunk, observe, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Apply industry best QA patterns and practices, including Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).
• Development Experience in Web services, REST/SOAP/XML, and API/Service‑based testing using tools such as POSTMAN, Bruno etc..
• Utilize cloud technologies and build/test cloud‑based applications, with a preference for AWS.

Essential Skills:

• Experience: 12+ years of industry experience as a .Net Backend engineer Development
• Methodologies : MVC with .NET Core, REST APIs, Microservices, experience on .NET Framework is helpful but not must have, streaming platforms like Kafka is good to have too.
• Test Automation: Unit/Integration/Acceptance testing experience with Selenium.
• Programming Languages: React js and Next js, C# with good knowledge of OOPS concepts and design patterns.
• CI/CD: Any Git tool for source control. Build tools like TeamCity or Jenkins and experience with deployment tooling like Octopus or similar.
• Databases: Either of the relational databases like MSSQL / Oracle. Also, any No‑SQL database like MongoDB is good to have.
• Cloud: Hands‑on AWS / Azure (EC2, VPC, ASG, ALB, LAMBDA, ECS, EKS, S3).
• Monitoring: Familiarization with Splunk or a similar monitoring tool. Any familiarity with performance tooling like AppDynamics is good to have. Soft skills: Excellent communication skills. Working experience with Agile methodologies.

Education Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
