Job summary
Motherhood Women & Children's Hospital in Zirakpur, Chandigarh area is seeking a Staff Nurse - PICU to deliver specialized pediatric nursing care in the ICU. You will monitor vitals, manage ventilator support, administer medications, and collaborate with the pediatric intensivists and nursing team.

Qualifications
- GNM or B.Sc Nursing qualifications.
- 0–2 years experience in nursing (PICU preferred).

Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill infants and children in the PICU.
- Monitor vital signs including heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, temperature and oxygen saturation.
- Assess paediatric patients for changes in clinical condition and signs of deterioration.
- Monitor patients receiving ventilator support, oxygen therapy, and other respiratory interventions.
- Administer prescribed medications, intravenous fluids, and emergency treatments accurately.
- Calculate and verify weight-based medication dosages according to hospital protocols.
- Monitor infusion pumps and ensure accurate administration of prescribed fluids and medications.
- Assist paediatric intensivists during intubation, resuscitation, and other critical care procedures.
- Monitor fluid balance, urine output, and nutritional intake.
- Perform nursing procedures such as suctioning, catheter care, wound dressing, and specimen collection as authorized.
- Maintain aseptic techniques while handling invasive lines and medical devices.
- Observe patients for medication reactions and treatment-related complications.
- Provide age-appropriate nursing care based on the childs developmental and clinical needs.
- Support nutritional care and feeding arrangements as prescribed.
- Prevent pressure injuries through regular repositioning and skin assessment.
- Follow strict infection prevention and patient safety protocols.
- Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to doctors and senior nursing staff.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to parents and family members.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation, medication charts, and clinical records.
- Ensure PICU equipment, emergency supplies, and monitoring devices are ready for use.
