The Staff Nurse – OT provides nursing support to patients and the surgical team before, during, and after operations. The involves preparing the operating theatre, checking equipment, maintaining sterile conditions, assisting surgeons and anaesthetists, and ensuring adherence to surgical safety procedures. The nurse supports safe patient positioning, accurate instrument counts, infection prevention, and complete perioperative documentation to promote quality surgical care.
