The Staff Nurse – NICU provides specialized nursing care to newborns, including premature, low-birth-weight, and critically ill infants. The includes monitoring neonatal vital signs, administering prescribed treatments, supporting feeding and developmental care, operating neonatal equipment, and assisting with emergency interventions. The nurse collaborates with neonatologists and the healthcare team to maintain newborn safety, prevent infections, support parents, and ensure accurate clinical documentation.

• Provide nursing care to newborns admitted to the NICU.
• Monitor temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, and other clinical parameters.
• Assess neonatal condition and promptly report abnormal findings.
• Administer prescribed medications, fluids, and treatments safely.
• Operate incubators, radiant warmers, and phototherapy equipment as trained.
• Assist with neonatal respiratory support within authorized competency.
• Support neonatal resuscitation according to training and hospital protocols.
• Monitor feeding tolerance, fluid intake, output, and nutritional requirements.
• Support breastfeeding and expressed breast milk feeding as prescribed.
• Maintain thermoregulation and appropriate positioning of newborns.
