Job summary

Max Healthcare in Mumbai is seeking a skilled Cath Lab nurse to join the clinical team delivering specialist cardiac care based on evidence-based practice.

You will assess patient histories, participate in procedures, document interventions, coordinate care, and help develop guidelines while maintaining records and complying with policies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist cardiac care within a clinical team.
• Assess and interpret specialist information and conditions and take appropriate action.
• Assist with cardiac procedures in the cath lab including IABP and complex medications.
• Plan and deliver an evidence-based programme of care for cath lab patients.
• Update patient care plans and maintain accurate documentation.
• Contribute to clinical guidelines and protocols and ensure implementation.
• Provide specialist support to the clinical team for complex patient needs and sensitive information.
• Explore innovative ways of working within the specialty.
• Work predominantly in clinical practice to deliver high-quality care.
• Document nursing interventions and patient responses; evaluate effectiveness and update skills periodically.
• Maintain and update nursing skills; fumigate the department as required.
• Conduct consultations and refer patients; review histories; perform exams and order/interpret tests.
• Coordinate patient care and make referrals to other specialists as needed.
• Demonstrate awareness of current issues in nursing and health care.

Job description

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

? Work within a clinical team to deliver a specialist service, based on principles that are research based and which enhance the quality of patient care.

? Develops the skills to assess and interpret specialist information and conditions and takes appropriate action.

? Undertakes clinical procedures that require dexterity and accuracy, including scrubbing for the full range of cardiac procedures in the Cardiac catheter lab Assisting with IABP insertion, removal of femoral arterial / radial sheaths and the use of complex medicines in this clinical area.

? Assess, plan and deliver an evidenced base programme of complex care to Cath Lab Patients.

? Ensure that patient care plans are regularly updated, changes implemented and that patients’ records and documentation are maintained and current.

? Participate in the development of evidence - based patient care policies and procedures. Develop and contribute to clinical guidelines and protocols where appropriate and ensure they are implemented.

? Provide specialist support to the clinical team in dealing with the complex needs of different client groups and when imparting or receiving sensitive, complex or contentious information.

? Adopt innovative ways of working within the speciality.

? Work at least 95% of time in clinical practice, with the emphasis on delivery of a quality

accordance with established policies, standards and procedures.

• Documents nursing interventions and patient response according to hospital policy. Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and methods of implementation.
• Maintains and updates skills needed for excellence in patientcare.
• Fumigate the department periodically and asrequired.
