Job summary

Plus Max Medical College and Hospital in Tamil Nadu is seeking a Staff Nurse. You will provide direct nursing care, monitor vitals, administer medications, and support pre- and post-operative care in a full-time capacity.

Qualifications

Key Responsibility :
1.Patient Care & Nursing Support
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients based on their medical needs and condition.
  • Monitor patient vitals and physical conditions (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, etc.).
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments as per doctors orders.
  • Assist in patient recovery and rehabilitation, including physical therapies and comfort measures.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
2. Patient Education & Communication
  • Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatments, and post-care instructions.
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to patients and their families.
  • Ensure clear communication with doctors and other healthcare professionals about patient status and concerns.
3. Documentation & Reporting
  • Accurately maintain patient medical records and nursing notes.
  • Update charts and report on changes in patient health status and progress.
  • Ensure that all documentation complies with hospital protocols and legal standards.
4. Collaboration with Healthcare Team
  • Work closely with doctors, specialists, and other healthcare providers to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Participate in case discussions, care planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Assist in managing and coordinating the patient’s care plan in collaboration with other team members.
5. Infection Control & Safety
  • Follow strict infection control procedures to prevent the spread of infections.
  • Ensure proper sterilization of medical equipment and maintain a clean, safe environment.
  • Follow hospital protocols for handling biohazardous materials and waste.
6. Emergency Response & Critical Care Support
  • Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies or patient distress.
  • Provide first aid and basic life support as necessary.
  • Assist in emergency resuscitation or other critical interventions as directed by senior staff or physicians.
7. Health & Wellness Promotion
  • Assist in organizing and conducting health awareness sessions, screenings, and wellness programs for patients and the community.
  • Encourage patients to maintain healthy lifestyles and manage chronic conditions.
8. Training & Professional Development
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions to stay current with healthcare standards and practices.
  • Actively contribute to nursing team meetings and discussions to enhance the quality of patient care.
  • Mentor and guide junior nursing staff or nursing students during their training and internship periods.
Ideal Candidate Profile:

Education: Diploma/Bachelor’s in Nursing (GNM, B.Sc. Nursing, or equivalent).

Skills:

  • Excellent patient care and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle emergencies.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety protocols.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently as required.

Certifications: Valid nursing license in the country of practice.

Physical and Mental Stamina: Ability to work long hours and manage stressful situations.
