Job summary

Athulya Assisted Living is seeking a Registered Nurse to ensure safe, timely, and person-centred clinical care for residents. You will execute nursing procedures, implement care plans, document observations, monitor health status, and support the care team while maintaining high standards of infection control.

Role includes wound care, vital signs, medication administration, and shift handovers with emphasis on geriatric care, empathy, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Nurse must have GNM or B.Sc. Nursing with valid registration.
• Experience with geriatric or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications per MAR and ensure safety protocols.
• Perform nursing procedures (wound care, catheter care, glucose checks, oxygen, nebulization).
• Record daily vital signs and clinical observations.
• Ensure care plan tasks are followed by the team.
• Escalate changes in health condition to Nurse Manager/DMO.
• Support physiotherapy and diet instructions via monitoring.
• Maintain nursing notes, MAR, and incident records.
• Document escalation calls and abnormal findings.
• Participate in care plan reviews with resident updates.
• Guide Champions and Caretakers on hygiene and safe practices.
• Brief nursing team during huddles and handovers.
• Enforce infection control, PPE, and isolation procedures.
• Act as first responder in emergencies until DMO arrives.
• Report clinical incidents or near misses promptly.

Role & responsibilities and Position Title: Registered Nurse Reporting To: Nurse ManagerSupervises: Champions, CaretakersRole PurposeTo ensure delivery of safe, timely, and person-centred clinical care to residents within the assigned pod. The registered Nurse executes daily nursing procedures, ensures implementation of care plans including documentation, monitors resident health status, and supports & elevates the morale of the care team.

• Administer medications as per MAR and ensure medication safety protocols are followed.
• Perform nursing procedures: wound dressing, catheter care, blood sugar checks, oxygen therapy, nebulization, etc.
• Conduct and record daily vital signs and clinical observations.

2. Care Plan Implementation

• Ensure daily tasks align with the care plan prepared by the registered nurse.
• Observe changes in health condition and elevate to Nurse Manager/DMO.
• Support physiotherapy and diet instructions through reinforcement and monitoring.

3. Clinical Documentation

• Maintain accurate nursing notes and update MAR and incident records.
• Document escalation calls, refusals of care, or abnormal findings.
• Participate in care plan reviews with updated inputs on resident condition.

4. Team Support & Supervision

• Guide Champions and Caretakers on hygiene care, transfer techniques, and safe practices.
• Ensure the nursing team is briefed on resident updates during the huddles.
• Participate in shift handovers with relevant clinical details.

5. Infection Control & Emergency Response

• Enforce hand hygiene, PPE usage, and isolation procedures.
• Be the first responder for emergencies until DMO intervention.
• Ensure prompt reporting of any clinical incidents or near misses.
